How is everyone ? today is the day I finally clean up my furnace. I've done hundreds of melts and it's actually held up pretty well but now she'll hold up for years to come. Now if you enter the giveaway the details are in the description but just be aware whenever there's a giveaway the scammers come out of the woodwork and try to trick people into saying they have won and then get them to leave KZbin to talk to them pretending to be me and then they will ask for gift cards or delivery payments so just be very aware of who you're talking to in the comments. Anyway enough of that so be sure to have an awesome weekend and I'll hopefully see you all next Friday😁👋🏻

I can’t tell you his favorite part because he’s probably enamored with it all, it’s probably the dogs, but he knows why you put the cardboard under the crucible every time and tells me. So, thank you for teaching him something that isn’t a video game ❤

Thank you bigstacksD Casting for your weekly posts, another great video. Very useful and informative videos. They inspired to make my own furnace out of scrap finds an old gas bottle, cocktail shaker, leafblower and BBQ coals (It actually worked, managed to melt copper). Eventually I saved up for a 10kg Devil Forge (amazing bit of kit). It has bought me many hours of fun melting and learning how to cast. Love the new workshop.

Great informational video when a furnace restoration is needed. It’s impossible to pick any one favorite item from your store… but thanks for the knowledge either way. No worries at all buddy. I get alot of people from the states want to send me beer but it’s easier and a hell of a lot cheaper if they just donate a few dollars and when I’m at my local liquor store I can grab one or two of what the person wants to send. They’ll just need to check that it’s available at my local ‘Dan Murphys Bunbury’ store before they let me know the name or donate any money. And I’ll usually grab their email and give them a thumbs up picture holding the beer in the shed or with the boys so they know I didn’t waste it on silly fruits or salad😁👍🏻

Tumbling your brass in a crushed walnut medium will clean it up a lot and may eliminate much of the slag. Folks like myself who reload cartridges like the ones you are melting do that to restore them to a new look. I use an old motorized ice cream maker that I tilt 45 degrees to keep the brass and medium from spilling out. The walnut medium seems to last forever.
