My longest video to date and there's a lot happening today. Scrap yard run , Shop run dogs food and all the usual stuff so sit back and take it easy and I hope you enjoy this longer video. But most importantly have an awesome safe weekend😁👍
Now Guys if you Feel like supporting the channel it wont cost you a cent as you can Simply just donate some of your time. By just by allowing the ads to play through this will help out a lot and that’s how I make a bit extra revenue and the good thing is more revenue means more giveaways and more treats for the dogs👊🏻😄. A better way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻😁👍🏻.

HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

@@barbarakennedy2667 😂 Yeah, its a good idea, but it limits your movement to the bench. Another one would be glue a wee leather pouch to the drill, but with big clunky hands, getting it out and back in again is time consuming and a pain in the backside. Its wonderful though, all those wee quirky things and how we uniquely deal with them, give us lots of loving memories, to hold onto.... 🙂...

I've posted this suggestion before but I'm going to keep trying. I think a great addition to your treasure room would be a copper crucible. Fill a old crucible to the brim with molten copper and let it harden in the crucible, then break the crucible and you should have a brick in the shape of a smaller crucible you can polish and engrave. Would be a sick piece for the room. Or maybe using a mold you can cast a normal crucible out of copper. Who else wants to see a copper crucible.
@mafin_official
@mafin_official Жыл бұрын
if he filled the cruicible to the brim, the copper cruicible would also be filled and it would not have the actual space inside of it to melt stuff. i know that it's not important since if he tries to melt anything in it, he'll melt it but still it feels like there should be a space inside of it.
@boomer150
@boomer150 Жыл бұрын
I agree the best method would be making a copper crucible by sand mold, taking one of his nice crucibles (or 3d printing one if he can) and using it with the sand to make a mold, it could be difficult but I think it would be worth it and would make for great content.
@emileneslo5695
@emileneslo5695 Жыл бұрын
I've suggested something similar once too in one of his earlier videos. To take a crucible that is due for retirement and fill it to the max with obviously molten copper. For show let it cooldown with a big ice brick. Once cooled enough chip away the crucible and metal brush the little still stuck crucible pieces off. But your idea of a copper crucible is also a good one. Your idea is Tarra and mine idea is Netto if you catch my Bruto drift😅

@@mafin_official where does he suggest using a copper crucible for melts? I think the comment reads more as a "would be a cool mantle piece." Considering how beautiful copper is when polished and shiny, I agree.

Now When I get to the 1000 kg mark I’ll probably have my video go to 999.9 kg and then the next video I’ll make sure I tracked down a 500-600 kg motor and maybe do some other bits and pieces so when I go over the thousand kilos I smashed it by 50 kg or something big like that In one video. I will keep going but I just wanted an achievable goal I could getOver the next year or two👍🏻.

They're sleeping, bless the little sockets, it's been a hard day!! Another thing I like is audio! In Terminator 2 when Sarah is escaping pescadero hospital I always loved the sound effect for the key entering the lock and the breaking the key in the lock, the sound of the ingots releasing from the moulds and falling onto the brick is satisfying and placing the mould onto the brick makes a nice sound, same with ingots on ice, and keep yer speed down racing away there, wait!!!!

cant get enough of this channel, it has become my FAV channel and thats really saying something D. I mostly watch current events/news and then mostly tech stuff, computers, or engineering, doing things that are a bit of adventure or pretty much a hands on thing, make something or improve on something, hack it or modify. YOUR channel is honestly, I really do not know why I am so drawn to it, there are a few guys who do melting, a few who do forge and blacksmith work. and thousands of pup channels. but I keep finding myself back here. I watched a few and I said yea I have to start this from the beginning, so now I go all the way back and watch a few, mix in something newer, or a new vid will pop up and I cant resist. I wanted to start at vid 1 and not watch a new one till I was all or mostly caught up but AHHH lol its not really a story arc. there was 1 now 2 pups. there was no where near a ton, now its not that far away. lol. but I will eventually have seen them all, I just no longer stay so focused on t he order of em, and I realize this is what I LOVE MOST about the channel. its far too relaxing to get worked up over, the reason I come here is. its euphoric. weird I know. anyway love the vid, the pups, and your pretty ok yourself. PLEASE keep up the great work that you share with us, stay safe healthy and if possible happy as well. GOOD on ya mate. Drew from Brooklyn NY, USA.

One of motor cases that I melted was actually magnesium, that I thought was aliuminium. It lit up so bright. The light looked like it was from a welding.

Those pesky 10mm sockets. Maybe if you leave a snack for them they'll return? A few 10mm nuts and bolts perhaps? Always love your motor melts! Have a great weekend!

When 45 minutes feel like 4.5 minutes you know it was a good one. Thank you. And the 10mm sockets made my day. These damn little freaks, I instantly checked mine. Guess what... Gone 🙄

Fantastic vid. This is the first time that we get a sense of how hot the radiant heat is, when you stepped back after opening the furnace. BTW, thats just how my wife shopped for her motor(car): "I want a red one"!
