For such project to get done on faster mode, Central Government and State Government must of same party. More important thing is that this project is under Indian Railway. So, faster approvals for all hurdles and also the Highway Ministry too is with same government. So, even more faster approval wherever the route is passing over national or state highway.

I recently heard that the Japanese are asking for more money for each train than before, so India has asked an Indian company to make trains that won't runner faster than 250kmph. So no Shinkansen and no bullet trains. Just high-speed trains.

@@woolmothj2712 yes as per loan agreement between Japan and India. India should buy train sets from Japanese manufacturers only. Kawasaki and Hitachi have already submitted the quotes however some design to be modified to adjust for Indian environment which once concluded the purchase order would be released either of the two based on the Indian railway requirements.

Here's an article from The Economic Times of 16th April 2024. Japanese style bullet trains will run at 320 kmph between Ahmedabad to Mumbai but on the second section and other routes, Ahmedabad to New Delhi, Indian built trains by Integral Coach Factory (ICF) will run at reduced speed of 250 kmph. Also, I like to point out that bullet trains run at or more than 320 kmph. In the Western world, trains that run at 250 kmph are considered high-speed trains and not bullet trains. "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its manifesto promised one bullet tain each for north, south, and east India. As of now just one bullet train project - Ahmedabad to Mumbai - is under construction in the West India. Another bullet train project is set to be built in the Ahmedabad-Delhi route. Incidentally, this will be Gujarat's second high-speed rail project. This new project will connect Ahmedabad to Delhi, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities. The high-speed train is expected to operate at an average speed of 250km/hour on an elevated corridor, cutting down the current 12-hour journey to just 3.5 hours. The detailed project report, recently finalized by the railways, outlines the route which includes key stations such as Himmatnagar, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Rewari, and Manesar. The proposal for the Ahmedabad-Delhi bullet train is part of the government's plan to introduce high-speed rail projects in different regions of India, with the aim of improving connectivity and boosting tourism."

Cost is not necessary to be discussed, it's an infrastructure project where most the procurements and jobs were Indian, so the loan will be paid back anyway. Indonesia a much weaker economy and Jakarta a much poorer city than Mumbai and Ahmedabad built a bullet train
