It sounds unique and interesting that he said that, but in actuality he does stretches. You can see it in his videos on his channel that he does stretch. He does a kneeling quadricep stretch against the wall and also the pancake stretch. But he seems to prefer weight assisted stretches more, but its still stretching.

Hey me too at 52 - changed my life. 2 shredded knees from revolutionary 'key-hole' surgeries back in the 1990's. those surgeons knew so little about the knee. even today some of them just stick in a knee replacement because therapy just doesn't pay and its too hard for many to do. its disgraceful. fortunately my surgeon had seen and tried knees over toes himself and he recommended it to me. game changed Im now running and skiing again.

@user-mj6sl9qv8j
@user-mj6sl9qv8j Жыл бұрын
@@olanilsson2559 Hi Ola - surgeons are better now - they repair meniscus rather than cut it off which is what happened to me over 4 surgeries. I had medial & lateral meniscus tears cut away on both knees over 8 years as a Marine Commando, regularly playing Rugby & Judo. Surgery solved it then, but meniscus has now worn away to very little on MRI and X-Ray with two torn. The resulting wear away is very common across all knee surgeries - osteoarthritis - caused by growth of little bastard osteophytes. Lock down + remote working accelerated my decline till I was getting severe random and persistent pain, swelling etc. I was resigned to knee replacements which although covered by my medical plan I did a lot of research (10,000 knee replacements were just recalled due to faulty parts...) and was eventually guided to this KOT plan. Any choice for surgery should be informed by your symptoms & try a few surgeons. My view was to try this first in the knowledge that if it didn't prevent the surgery it would ensure I got the most from the surgery, recovered faster and prevented further problems. Like any exercise plan it can be tough to stick with, but anyone can do it.

An important note to his "I don't stretch, only strengthen" By that he means traditional static stretching, b/c every movement he does incorporates stretching. The increase in muscle & tendon strength through those extreme ranges of motion provides improved stability, thus triggering the CNS to allow you to get much increased range of motion and force production b/c it feels safe with said stability. Most people are much stronger and flexible than they realize. They simply lack stability and therefore their CNS won't allow them to utilize it, it's a safety mechanism.

Thank you so much for this information. As a lifelong athlete who is still playing competitive sports into his mid 30's I have suffered my fair share of knee injuries and dealt with what I thought was going to be life long knee pain and now I have some hope and a direction to go in to eliminate the pain.

Excellent information, wish you could do a video that would help knees and only using basic home equipment. I am doing what I can from your videos at home and I am finding amazing results. Thank you so much. 🙏🙌👍💕

It's definitely a different approach to strength training and rehabilitation. The power of utilising alternative movements to improve performance should not be underestimated.

At age 44 , life long martial artist and athlete here , these days its all about healing and longevity for me. I look back at some of the reckless aggressive training sessions I had in my 20 's. Overtraining as an over confident youth. These days I love learning small tips and tricks for my solo homes gym workouts.

I would love to meet him, we have basically the same style of training clients, very animated, constantly moving demo-ing, cueing, and using touch as feedback for proper movement, rom, and muscle engagement. Constant repetition and explanation of what is happening in real time and why, quoting both studies and personal experience left and right. I know it’s not everyone’s style, and I’m biased since we are similar, but I think that’s a sign of a really good trainer.

Love this kind of surprises!! I've been calling this kind of exercises agressive phisiotherapy since I dig on it to fully recover personal setbacks and clients injurys that the REAL physios didn't or couldn't. Shame to all the professionals out there in any field that don't have the passion and only think about money, instead of the joy of knowing how our reality works and solving problems.

@@troycross2858 I've been doing his stuff for ~year. I won't answer for Chris but for me it's just less pain in normal activity. For example, if I had to take stairs a year ago today.. I could do it, but I was like pushing off of my lower leg while trying to walk up with my other leg. I walked 3 flights yesterday without a single ounce of pain and was pushing through with the actual leg I was walking up stairs with. I can't say I've noticed a ton of difference in regards to lifting, but I'm waaay more flexible because of the ATG Zero flexibility protocol which I do ~3x a week.

@@troycross2858 absolutely less pain. As a jumper and an athlete in my 30s, the mentality of just having the confidence to attack something with no thought or hesitation of pain is worth the money alone. Plus your legs start looking realllllll nice 👌🏼

@@chickox thanks for the reply. I pulled my hamstring back in the 7th grade. If I don’t warm up a lot(even if I do sometimes) when I sprint I will start to feel it pull again. I’ve been worried about tearing or pulling it again. I think I might have to start his program once I’m done with my current certification. I think that’s great to have that kind of confidence as I know don’t want to have those negative thoughts in the back of my mind. I was diagnosed with ankle arthritis in my right ankle after the army. That took me years to figure out as I refused to go on pain meds for my many injuries in the military. I’m glad to hear other people success stories as it always got me down seeing so many of my fellow soldiers on pain killers. I would try to encourage them and others but constantly called a conspiracy theorist. It truly makes me happy seeing other people heal their bodies.
