Before you enter. It is best that your dog is relaxed or comfortable. He’s too excited. Plus. You haven’t taught your dog who is the Alfa. Your dog believes he is the Alfa and those other dogs are weaker. When you have more than one Alfa dog at the dog park. You need your dog know that you are the Alfa dog and should control him. It’s not the other dogs fault

I’m not trying to be a jerk, but be careful with everything this person is saying. He has a bias to his Malinois. Much of the commentary is benign, but some of his comments are fairly inaccurate. To start, Malinois don’t enjoy dog parks, yet the owner keeps taking him there. Malinois want to work, and a dog park isn’t work for them. Navy Seals don’t like to train and hang out at donut shop with the local police department. Malinois were bred for a specific high octane duty, and a dog park is not even close to being on their bucket list. To a malinois, a dog park is like making an entrepreneur work in a corporate cubicle their whole life when they could go out in the field and absolute clean up. I recommend stop taking the malinois to the dog park, and give it the life it was bred for.

@@markhoffman I think it's kind of a weird statement saying "Malinois don't like the dog park, they want to work" Like, you don't know if he's working his Mal or not. He's probably just taking Ronin to the park to meet other dogs and get some video footage. Nobody knows what he's doing all of the other time. Yeah, Malinois are bred to be working dogs but they do fine living as family dogs, as long as they have a purpose and a task. And yes, most Malinois like meeting other dogs. They're social animals after all.
@markhoffman
@markhoffman 6 ай бұрын
@@kiru_red4691 I know it’s not what people want to hear, but if you talked with most malinois owner they would confirm they don’t take theirs to the dog park. There are much better places to socialize a malinois. You can see in the videos that the ronin is panting a lot even without activity, it’s stressed a lot of the time it’s there.

To Mark, working dogs still do normal pet things. I have Leonberger and they’re a working dog as well. It’s a good thing to give them “work” to do but they’re still like humans and need to have downtime and fun. And I agree with the other commenter that we don’t know what this owner is doing with his Malinois, we only see one facet of their life and Ronin seems like he enjoys his visits to the park.

As they should. Too many owners, especially male owners, seem to enjoy their dog's manliness. This guy here seems to enjoy his big Malinois and his intimidation of other dogs. @@nowyouredoingthesponge4644 Absolutely. He's obviously a good trainer. The problem is an intact dog brings drama and trouble. He may control his dog, but others will then be forced to jump in and get control of their dogs. Ronan may enjoy showing his skill and manliness in controlling his big dog, a real testosterone rush, but most people just go to the park to let their dogs play and get exercise. They're not looking for trouble. They're not looking to show off their skills. They're not shooting a video for tic toc or youtube. They're just normal people trying to let their dogs have fun. Now what had been a good time with happy dogs becomes a stressful time that everyone comes to dread because of one dog that brings intact energy.

@@cocokai9661 Agreed, the dude is milking these interactions knowing they'll be 100% guaranteed due to his intact dog, keeping the dog that way is an investment after all for video milking seeing this happens *all* the time. @@nowyouredoingthesponge4644 It's not the behaviour of Ronin half as much as a default setting of dogs as a whole; intact vs neutered will *always* be problematic no matter the training level. I have pit bulls, and that dogs owner had no control over him but i didn't really see him trying either. I'd have asked him politely to control his dog. If he argued or got aggressive id leave before letting it escalate into a dog fight, but I'd notify the park of his dogs behavior and him not controling his dog. My male pit would recall to a point, but I'd have to get hands on him because if the dog pushed him constantly he'd get real within just a couple of seconds...

😂 Dogs are basically like kids at the play ground. Think about it they have the mentality of a 5 yr old. Most of the dogs are just trying to establish what kids in charge and whose going to going to lead their adventures 😂. I owned an American pitbull and I can tell you right now the bully was not looking for a fight. It's body language was chill and playful. I love every kind of dog but the bully is my favorite. Ive raised different work dogs and the American pitbull is an absolute pleasure to train just like these beautiful dogs. I'm getting my daughter a Belgian their the only dog beside a pitbull I wouldn't mind being grandpa to. My pitbull died and she took my heart with her I'm personally done owning anymore dogs. I'll never find another dog like her. Even in her own breed she was special. I've never met a more gentle loving soul that brought me nothing but pure joy every single day right up to her last days. I've had a few dogs in my life and they broke my heart. This one took it with her😢

I have been to a dog park once and don't plan to do it again. I took my 3 yo GSD, Sadie, to a park in Blacksburg, VA. She was playing with a young boxer, a dance mix, and a lab mix on the dogs over 60# side. She got tired and was lying under my picnic table while I was talking to the boxer's owners. A guy brought in a smaller dog (30-40#) into the large dog side. It was a male with the canine equivalent of short man syndrome. It immediately went over and bit the boxer. The boxer was shocked but didn't respond. Then it made the mistake of biting Sadie. Sadie had him on his back in less than a second. I'm just glad I was there to control the situation. We left the park after that but the owner of the smaller dog acted as if nothing had happened. Maybe I should have just let Sadie deal with that dog.

I used to be Vice President of our local dog park. I no longer go. I guess it's "fun" for some dogs and people but it is a very unnatural environment IMO and showcases aggression and bad behaviour more than anything else. The people were the reason I stopped going. Not responsible at all.
