My story: I''m sitting in my office, needing the bathroom for about an hour, thinking, "I'll just get this one thing done." I finally surrender to the overwhelming urge to go number 2, run to the bathroom and discover I can't take the belt off. I feel around the buckle, pull on it, fingers rummaging for a lever or anything that moves and doesn't need enough force to break a component. Nothing works. So I rush back to my desk and look up the Amazon page hoping for a helpful picture. None. I rush to KZbin and watch a couple tutorials. Nothing, at first. At last I find your video and you were the only one with the sense to just show that damn lever for the second I needed to understand how to take my trousers off. I was very close to just ripping the buckle apart and buying a different belt. But finally, thanks to you, I didn't have to choose between brown trousers or a broken belt. I'm feeling relaxed, and grateful. Thank you, sir.

I figured it out pretty quickly, after seeing the release button. Still trying to figure out where to cut mine, but I believe one size larger than one's waist, should be sufficient. Much depends on how much you want left to hang out, at the front, so I cut mine one size larger than my pant waist size, and it left about 3 1/2 - 4" out front, for those times you have a big dinner and have to let it out some! ;)

Have gone through 3 of them in 6 months (2 of them carhart)... teeth on the clasp break, got fed up so I sent some brass rivets through it lasted 4 months then the pins on the hinges broke. Pants weight like 20-30lbs because I'm a mechanic and like to carry air gauges, tread depths, Leathermans, flashlights, pens lighters, knives, ect. To try and save some walking. Between that and constantly jumping up and down off the lift while doing alignments and resets pants constantly rip from the thigh to the belt and belts give up the ghost quick.

Hi Cronk! I actually found a better belt I'm using. It's called the Grip6 and the original I have is used everyday to hold up pants with tools inside as well as a DeWalt Cordless Power Tool than hands on the belt itself! It can be found here: www.amazon.com/dp/B08BV4GDBT/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_gl_i_AC6A0YMQ2JJJ5TTCPGSJ?linkCode=ml2&tag=leontmcdaniel-20.

When I purchased ratchet belts, they don't come with the buckle attached. Agree they are great belts, but a better video would be to show how you cut the belt and how you attach the buckle. Doing this for the first time requires quite a bit of force to get the sharp teeth into the belt and the buckle can get a little crooked if you are not careful to keep the end of the belt flush into the stop.

@@TechCrackedWeekly I had a kore, the plastic teeth track pulled out and never heard back from them. They have sponsored every positive video about them and they had some insane thing where they have gone around and posted tons of fake positive reviews. This belt is lousy quality. The fact that you're calling it the best is laughable. You obviously haven't tried the other ratchet belt brands. I own a dozen ratchet belts from 7 different makers and would say that Kore and Nexbelt are both top rated. Each is better than this cheaply junk. Nexbelt is best for golf and ladies and Kore for men and concealed carry.

@taintwasher37034 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind ratchet belts are very fragile. If you try to slide your pants off without removing the belt then the rivets can pop out rendering the belt useless. Also depending on the brand it might have very fragile plastic bits in the buckle. Whatever you do DO NOT get one from J C Penney it will break within weeks
@TechCrackedWeekly4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that info. This brand has been very durable. Occasionally, I hang a cordless lithium ion Dewalt Impact or drill from it. To my surprise, it has held up very well. I'm still using this one seen in the video. 🙂
