That would be the ideal situation in a wild horse management area, but they are managed vastly different on tribal lands. Some tribes respect the wild horses but others look at them as a nuisance (competition for grazing cattle) and dramatically cull the herds. If there are no immediate adopters, they are sold for slaughter. The fact that she so readily got permission to remove the horse tells me they are not a “preserve the herds” kind of operation and it’s unlikely there were other herds available to steal mares.

@@TheAstroflight "Horses are not native to the Americas" - Actually they are. They went extinct around 10,000 years ago (some think early humans hunted them) in the Americas, and eventually made there way back when people brought them.

This fact and the immense slaughter of millions and millions of bison and the introduction of cows/cattle decimated the grasslands, creating the Great Dust Bowl. Cows/cattle were walked many miles from the west/midwest to Chicago for slaughter and while all their walking impacted the ground upon which they walked, their hoofs did not turn-over the soil/dirt which contributed to the arid conditions now known there. Prairie dogs are very beneficial to that ecosystem but bringing bison back would change that entire swath of land in America. "Wild" herds of horses would certainly be impacted but, perhaps, in a healthy way.

It only takes a person with a compassionate heart. Too many people are heartless Not concerned about the well fare of others. You see it with humans with other humans. Even if a wild animal, it needs help. But of course caution is required. Many people have no knowledge of how to help. But don't even report a problem.

You broke my heart with this one.. This needs to go viral. I so admire people brave enough to love animals. From a young child when my first animal died, I knew I would experience the worst heartbreak possible if I loved them. I was right. I'm a realist oil painter, artists are incredibly sensitive and turned into animals. I remember my beautiful 4year old Arabian stallion, gentle as a mare. I will always long to be with him, always, as long as I live. I have no more animals now. I'm too much of a coward to love them again, the pain of loss overwhelms me. So thank you for being so brave, and loving them this way. I really admire your bravery, strength and courage. Animal are not for the fainthearted. God bless you and your beautiful animals.. ❤❤❤

I love horses so much since little even more as l got older. Little did l know my uncle had a horse farm. He past away, l never met him, l was maybe 9, he died of a brain tumor. Anyway my mom gave me my middle name after a horse trainer. When l found that out l was happy. I will always love hirses, have horseheads and horse shoe on my stone for when l die. Alot in my home. It's natures way to kick the juvenile males out of the herd no matter how cruel it seems. I still applaud you for your efforts to rescue this horse and give him a home where he is loved and cared for. What a beautiful bond CJ and Surfer Dude created together. Those two were destined to be together. Horses know who means well and who doesn't. Her aura is very good. CJ genuinely loves SD and he knows it. I like that she went out and spent lots of time with him, just earning his trust and bonding with him without wanting or trying to break his spirit. I pray that she never does. She's letting him be a horse with his own herd, not plotting to get a bit in his mouth - a refreshing change of pace. 🥰👍🏽

There are 4 rescue mules - 6 rescue horses and more than a few wild Mustangs on my ranch. It is a science to understand horse and other animal behavior and "keep the peace" so to speak. Also Respect to the Tribe and Landowner who gave green light to her to adopt him. That is how you should do it. Ask for Permisson because they lost so much land and animals in the History and deserve being asked .
