@edb38772 ай бұрын
Good point about those who have a large stack looking differently at premium issues. I keep good records of every oz. of gold and silver I've ever bought, inherited, or received as a gift. I keep a couple of backups of this spreadsheet and also make an annual paper copy. When it comes time to sell some of this, I want to be able to pay any tax that is due on the profits. I'm hoping that the US Gov stops taxing capital gains taxes on bullion. Those of us who see gold and silver AS MONEY should not have it taxed, not because of anything we did, but because the US Gov created inflation that then caused the value to go up. If they were to do this only for US Mint gold and silver coins, that would be a good start because this is a large part of my stack.

Today, well over $100 per coin, but they were worth similar in 2020. There's no guarantee that the tactic pays off, though. Coins worth $89 collector value are still only worth bullion to dealers. @christophergreyson69532 ай бұрын
Everything the government does screws you over. The mint is just another government agency like the post office that is terribly inefficient because it's a monopoly. I'd wait a few years from when a mint item is released because the prices usually come down at the coin dealers. Dealers are buying the coins from sellers for way below what the mint originally sold them typically unless it was a very low mintage. Just be patient and wait and quit buying from the mint as they are indeed ripoff.

Libertads have low mintages and this matters, i bought a bunch of Lilbertads when Silver was at a low for $3 over spot, so i say buy what you like!

i am a LEGACY stacker, meaning only Coin Of The Realm. I have no interest in bars/rounds.

Well...💥...I hope this comment doesn't offend you as I really enjoy watching your videos. As a very new stacker (about 6 months), I found Keith's answers to be very helpful, clear and understandable. However, after every answer Keith gave, you attempted to interpret his answer, which confused the crap out of me. You seemed to go into depth beyond a new persons comprehension which muddied the waters for me. Just my Opinion. But, what the heck, I got through it, I still love you and life goes on. 😍💋😁 THANK YOU for all your videos! 👍

The dealer that I buy from lists their buy back price for each item on their site. It's really eye opening and has steered me away from most 'ice cream' silver.

Get a bullion scanner with a variety of testing leads. Scanning that gold eagle would of prevented that mess.

Can people purchase Gold Eagles directly from the US Mint?
@KevinFinnerty-c4n3 күн бұрын
Only proof and other collectible versions. The bullion version can only be bought in large quantities by qualified and approved authorized purchasers (large dealers)

Acting as a dealer, buying and selling is the only way to profit from metals. Always someone who needing a fix or drink and will sell off cheap.

Why buy 90 percent silver when coin shops will buy back for less than spot? Doesn’t seem like a good deal
@stephengoodwin64032 ай бұрын
how about Morgan's and Liberty dollars?
@feoxorus2 ай бұрын
You're collecting, not stacking, then. I can never understand people choose to pay more for Morgans over Peace Dollars. Morgans aren't pretty enough for their inflated price.

Why mess with the confusion in face value and storage over time with 90% as opposed to .999 in troy ozs with clear spot prices? Rhetorical question, do you.

I think its funny that silver "stackers" talk just like investors yet somehow think its not investing.
@feoxorus2 ай бұрын
Of course it's investing! You don't buy precious metals for that rainy day and expect them to be worth the same or less, anyone who says so is only lying to himself. The only way they don't appreciate is if we have no inflation, and that will never happen with our Fed and the global banking cabal "making" money like there's no piper to pay.

Investing is surrounded by a growth stigma. If your capital isn't constantly ballooning it's seen as a waste. Our economy is so fucking goofy.

90% is understandable as being able To Use in fractions of an ounce…Be it would be really heavy to pick up and go. Be Specific when you Buy 90% Because When you Buy “Junk Silver” you’re going to get Unwanted and unsellable Nickels.

It’s not spot from SD bullion ended up being 34 something so I didn’t purchase from them … and that was the spot deal

The discount is applied at checkout... I used that deal myself when I first ordered from them.

Worry about the quantity you want to unload and who will want to buy your quantity as well. Someone will have to buy your stack and will want to unload it too.
@wapphigh52502 ай бұрын
This is good advice. Stack generic. Get one or two of what you like hi premium. Diversity keeps you interested. Nobody is going to "make money" stacking or collecting gold or silver. You are only going to make money working at yr real job, business (and if investing in the sector) researching the mining or royalty stocks. Just MO
@martinco7122 ай бұрын
If you pay $35 total for 1oz and you wait and sell it for $40 you make $5 screw the premium. The lion's share of silver to flip is 1 oz rounds and bars. There are always people looking for and buying the cheapest kind of silver.just Take the win.
