I hate these people for so many reasons... let me count the ways. 1. Contributing to the stigma that gamers are nothing more than disruptive misogynistic man-children. 2. Specifically targeting this show toward people who know nothing about video games to spread misinformation. 3. Contributing to the stigma that women are fragile and can't stick up for themselves. 4. Manipulating and lying about statistics to justify their own existence. 5. Continuously claiming games have a hostile environment despite games being one of the most welcoming communities. (anecdotal evidence to be fair) 6. Trying (like so many) to stifle the freedoms the internet and gaming provide. 7. Trying to change something for their own sake, not realizing they're messing with everyone else's experience 8. Being unable to realize some things just aren't for everyone. 9. Trying to create a "culture of inclusion" by excluding people. 10. Trying to add consequence to ridiculous comments made on the internet (kind of just number 6 again, but still) 11. Contributing to the myth that games are only targeted toward men's fantasies, and not everyone's fantasies. (women like to feel powerful too) 12. Bringing up the ever present "Patriarchy," but not actually talking about it. (people keep bringing it up, but no one ever wants to point out what exactly they're criticizing when they say it) 13. Contributing to the stigma that gamers hate women, and that gaming is not a place for women. 14. Blatantly lying about the authenticity of events to justify a narrative. 15. Obvious scripted dialogue meant to vilify gamers. 16. Pretending they were actually accomplishing something. 17. Trying to make money off of this. And finally... Pretending to be morally superior despite the aforementioned.

Like why would you be trash talking someone on your team for getting a double kill? Thats something that would make anyone happy and not angry at all. Trash talking someone on your own team for doing good, something that would increase your team's chances at victory. Perfect logic there. "Over 21 million female gamers have reported sexual harassment in game." Have they never heard of the mute button?
@pittland446 жыл бұрын
Flaming Rhinoceros I say this as someone who isn't a gamer, how much of that "sexual harassment" is normal, run of the mill trash talk? Also, are women unable to withstand such trash talk (which is different from sexual harassment)? If so, are women as weak and thin skinned as the stereotype would have us believe? Also, having played videogames communally in real life and online, I can tell you that plenty of people have said all kinds of inappropriate to downright crazy things to me and the only thing that I did was laugh at the clever ones. Also, love your nickname, it's a great visual.
@flamingrhinoceros92176 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. I agree that it's probably just normal trash talk that has nothing to do with them being women. They probably take it as a attack on their gender, even though it probably isn't. I personally believe that if you can't have thick enough skin to deal with trashtalk on the Internet, then you shouldn't be on the Internet. Period. Besides, men deal with more trash talk while playing games (since more men play games), but we don't go around complaining about it, now do we?
@Tuatara19896 жыл бұрын
I think part of it is that people will latch onto whatever stands out about you, as a subject for mockery and insults. In a game like CS: GO, being a women is the exception, so it stands out. I've often heard guys mock/insult guys over their accent, something else that often stands out. Btw: It could actually be true that women are (on average) less good at 'withstanding trash talk'. For instance, women score (on average) higher on Neuroticism. I'm not sure that'd be a predictor for ability to withstand trash talk, but it seems plausible...? Of course even there were such a difference, it still wouldn't be a good idea to coddle them (imo).

This is really funny. My mom plays halo, she prefers swat. When someone starts trash talking her, she kills and teabags them, and laughs, because that is part of the point. The point of trash talk it to unsettle your opponent to make them think irrationally. it is a strategy, not just an action performed just to hurt feelings. Though it's not morally just, it's part of the game, even if it wasn't intended by the creators. You can't see through a simple facade that is intended to make you mad so you can't play, why? Because you are too busy thinking about them than the game. This is a joke.

Thank god, honestly these “women” are nothing more than children that never learned the age old saying called “ sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Now sure words can be powerful and if someone was to follow you around and constantly attack you then sure it’s harassment but when it’s a one off game of some troll it’s not harassment. Unlike real life you can just leave the game and find another lobby or if it’s comp you can just mute the person and wait the match out. Seriously though if this is your main problem there is other issues that you have, it’s like the one person who tried to claim rape for teabagging in Overwatch . At this point I wonder how many women are actually this delicate because it seems to be growing a lot and it’s just ridiculous. Like how do you survive if you let everyone control how you act or feel.

A few minor mistakes/things you missed Rags: The first bully hunt switched from Dust II to Dust I (Dust I literally isn't in the game files anymore, it can't be reached on valve servers) The map the second one was on was de_cbble (cobblestone), not castle You can talk to the enemy in casual, for whatever reason It's feasible for the calling card to pop up quickly, because one can bind keys to type messages in chat (I would know, I have a meme trashtalk button that I spam when my teammate does good)
@Damstructions-funny6 жыл бұрын
A minor mistake you missed sir: In casual, you can talk to the enemy team IF they are dead. In the first footage it’s a Deathmatch gamemode. Casual and Deathmatch has differences when it comes to communicating with players: Deathmatch allows you to talk with every player ever, whereas Casual allows you to talk with any teammates alive and any dead players.

One time when I was playing mw2 when I was like 13, someone said something (dont remember) but it hurt me pretty bad. Almost cried.. so I ran to my mom and told her. She said okay.. this is what's going to happen. There is 3 things we can do.. either you toughen up and realize that some people say things that may offend you, or you learn to mute and ignore people that say things that hurt your feelings, or the last option.. you cant play the game anymore, because you clearly arent mature enough to handle it. This helped me so much throughout the years. I took option 1. If someone would talk shit, I'd talk it back. If someone said something that offended me, get your big boy pants on and realize that others have different views and opinions. It's not my right to change their opinions, and it's not theirs to change mine.

People with no personality tend to associate with groups rather than having personal opinions, and also rely on attention grabbing fashion to try and give people the impression that there's some deeper meaning for their piercings, tattoos, hair dye etc. It's also probably from some sort of perception that people who stand out are more self confident and "special" or some shit. Put those two traits together and you wind up with a lot of people in these self righteous groups who look like they're trying to channel Jared Leto from Suicide Squad. Edit: I realize the irony of that last sentence given what my portrait is.

@@WestinsChannel It's so staged it's painful. She gets 'bullied' in deathmatch on dust2 (pretty sure you can actually voice chat in deathmatch with enemies?), names the guy, then it cuts to the bullyhunter playing comp on dust 1 (pretty sure you can NOT hear the enemy team voicechat lol), knife kills the guy (without walking btw, so the guy with an established headset also doesn't have ears, poor guy). But like it's already said, you can't join comps in progress, so the bullyhunter has to either random queue and hope to get into a game with the bully by sheer luck, or queue with the victim before they even get bullied so they can help if they do.

Online toxic behavior is an issue and can cause people to quit playing a game. If only companies had seen this, saw it results in them losing money and spent developer time and money to include systems to block and report those people, and if only it resulted in bans for serial toxic players......................oh wait.......................

Looking at the back end of customer support, you can see that the stats are men bullying men, and women bullying women, but not so much between. Turns out for the most part, men and women like each other, or else don't care and do their own thing. This bullyhunters thing is simply a ploy to sell headsets and push out fake narratives for the Feminism.

@Lilothyn6 жыл бұрын
There is a "power structure" in the gaming community. It doesn't care for gender or "race", it cares for confidence and knowledge, but most importantly, skill. Trash talking plays an important role on this, as undermining your perceived opponents may empower you by making them feel less confident, or even being perceived by others as such, which can result in better performance from your entire team. That is exactly what addressing your troops before a battle intends to do: "inspire". These... people don't seem to understand that this culture was founded and grew on partial anonymity and competition. Two traits that promote trash talk. Sheltering people from these is not only pointless but also weakening. Also, if you don't like these environments, grab a few friends and play on private servers, which so many games support.

i agree . if someone else gets offended by being called a bitch or i know where you live , well good job you made the enemy lose a player if someone told me they know where i live i just tell them " yeah and i know where your mom lives , i visit her frequently ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) " then either he stops , continues or he gets mad worst case you mute the person in game

like really, ive played countless csgo matches and very few times have I been hit on, or "bullied" due to my sex, most of the time its a joke from my team, and even when they are serious..its not like they are doing anything to me irl..so i just brush it off, its only harassment if you take it that way..but really its just words...really like come on its just a game, we are strong we can take a bit of "harassment". hell I dare say that most people that I play with are downright Kind and sweet to me...maybe im just an outlier in this equation
@burningphoenix66796 жыл бұрын
Emma Spas12 you aren’t. I’m not a women but I’ve run into plenty in games and I never really see any harassment at least not any that I would consider unique to women. The worst I see is occasional flirts half of them being in a joking manner.

Emma Spas12 you seem more in the majority. I play online a lot and rarely see anything more than a flirt here or there. But like with what you do, they shake it off or take it as a compliment. Really just depends who you play with I guess

Fools always try to control everything around them and what others say, while intelligent and wise individuals control only themselves and how they react to said environments, situations, and people. If someone calls you the most outrageous titles, especially when they do so online, the best thing to do is either rebuttal with better, stronger arguments or just do a little something everyone can do, mute, ignore, or leave. Trying to control and fight this is only going to make it worse, cause further unnecessary arguments, and divide the gaming community as a whole. Even when successful (which it never is and never will be) it only weakens people's ability to take a joke or handle disagreements, resulting in us communities being weaker and less effective in debating others. The whole Bully Hunters initiative was a joke, the equivalent to how elementary school teachers and mother's try helicopter parenting everything and everyone around kids. It's stupid, let us be free and be able to exercise free discussion and discourse - civil and uncivil.
