Don't get me wrong, if someone's play, let's say, TF2 for 2-3,000 hours and knows the game really well, yeah, people should take his thoughts on the game as fact over someone who's just played only 10 hours. But of course, movies and such are different from things were experience like that. And I've watched most of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I can say that I think it's a far better show than it had any right to be, but I do think it's ridiculous for someone to say they hate it when they probably didn't even finish watching the first season at least.

@Geralt of Trivia At the end of "The Last Jedi" the "Rebellion" has been reduced to about 20 guys and the Millennium Falcon. Of course, you would have picked up on that right away with your "attention paying" skills. Not only THAT, but Rian goes out of his way to tell us that the Rebels have contacted the Republic for aid and NOBODY responded. That's not a "setback" for the Rebellion. They're GONE. Where can another writer possibly take things from here? If I were deliberately TRYING to f*ck up this trilogy, "The Last Jedi" is exactly what I would make. When a writer fails to tells us what's going on in his own film, that leaves plenty of room for anyone in the audience to fill in the gaps in his shitty writing, but that doesn't make it official.

Miles, i dont agree with that since unlike Empire which took a different direction and Subverted expectations of a Star Wars sequel, this one was so full of inconsistencies that made the 7 Main line films have either major plot holes (Why is the hyperspace ram a thing now? if it was always a thing why are there no Gravity Well ships in the First order Fleet?), lead to nothing (Fins and Rose's arc in the Casio meant nothing considering Holdo rammed the Raddus into the supremacy, so that was pointless), The set up for Snoke, the Knights of Ren, Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe, and Ray were all wasted. Luke's Character was Destroyed (you could tell Mark Hammel was not happy about having to play Luke this way in all the interviews) and was contradictory to the OT for no reason, Social Commentary was there but was very on the nose, and then Rose on Crait just... why? That was so contradictory and unneeded it is considered to be the worst part in the film. And thats not including how they made Hux into a running gag, the tone shifts that are not appropriate for the sake of making a joke, the lack of explanation to anything that happened in the 30 years before the events of TFA or to anything going on, Continuity that isnt kept together (They could get T-70 Xwings but couldnt get better speeders than the ones on Crait? Despite how much the T-70 would cost considering it was only recently replaced by the T85s?), and the story that just ruined every character aside from Rey, who is more of a Marry Sue in this movie than she was in the last. TFA, for all its flaws, did what it was meant to do, set up the new trilogy and make it possible for there to be new lore in the new movies, in the 30 Year gap, and after the new Trilogy. And this one threw all that out the window. Mauler's vids describe its Objective preformace well, in that it was terrible by Objective Measures, however personal opinion on the enjoyment of a movie despite its faults doenst stop those faults from making it a bad movie. I enjoy Stealth, a movie which is pretty bad objectively since it doesn't hold up to any picking with basic reasoning, but I still enjoy because it has good moments in it despite how bad alot of it is. The reason why I bring this up is Ask yourself this, how does the 3 eyes impersonator of Palpetine's son, who is currently a puppet figure head for the Imperial Remnant, and dies in his wedding to a Droid Leia by said droids hands sound like a good story? Its isnt, but thats a legitimate Star Wars Legends Story, though it sounds like crappy fan fiction that became a part of the Lore. TLJ has that same kind of issue, its fan fiction that was turned into an actual film, which breaks the logic of whats going on in every thing that happened before those events. Again Rags was right to recommend Mauler for the Critique of the movie since it does explain alot of what was bad about the movie, and i do suggest watching it.

So your point that you're trying to make here is that people will look at this objectively bad movie since its inception, as compared to the one that was critically adored by its fanbase on release, yet shunned by the public at large because it was too niche and weird? Do you practice at making stupid comments or was it something that just came to you naturally? Are you the Luke or Rey of idiocy? You can't compare the two movies releasing because the time periods and their observation by the public at large were *wildly* different. The public landscape back in the day looked at this movie and the people who liked it- ANYONE who liked it- as nerds, geeks, weirdos and freaks. You were considered a part of the "Out Crowd" if you could name ANY character or creature from Star Wars. Now, its so widely accepted and marketed, its become a shadow of what it used to be. No longer is it a Space Opera Western, but now its just random stories that just happen to have the word "Star Wars" slapped on it. All of our old characters, save a few are dead and the newer, more unlikable ones have been inserted instead. Storylines are subverted for cheap marketing and message application. Gone is an interesting story about space wizards with laser swords arguing whether or not emotion is bad. Now all there is, is corporate mandated plushie advertising, and all the Girl Power you can ask for. The movie is *objectively*, as in "We can all sit down together, point at this bad thing and identify it when compared to other stories of the same caliber"- bad. Its not going to blow over, just like the prequels never blew over. People still to this day hate them, and people will forever hate The Last Jedi and all of the puppets who trumpet how good it was without actually having a proper point to back up that claim. This is not a good Star Wars movie. If you like it, that's fine. Its perfectly natural to like bad movies, that's why MST3k is a thing. But don't sit here and try to compare the releases of movies that were multiple time periods apart you mouth-breathing sock-stain.

When i watched this movie, it was in a 4D cinema with hydraulic seats, pressured air blasing your face for explosions, laser flashes, wind machines and everything. I came out and was absolutely flashed by it, never had i experienced action like this. But when that spell wore off, there came the realization that this was all there was to it.... There is a bit of irony. Political intrigue was always part of the Star Wars story. You have imagery from the triumph of the wills and metropolis, and of course Palpatine’s rise to emperor. The difference is the political intrigue in the early movies were more like in game of thrones books, where it is the politics of that universe, and not trying to shoehorn in real world politics for the sake of being political.

Last jedi (cause 7 and 9 were trying to feel like Star Wars movie) didn’t question anything. Why should Rey try to save Kylo when literally the day before she was tortured and watched him kill his own father. I personally think it would’ve played out differently if they gave Rey and Kylo an actual connection that she would want to try and save him. But Kylo would basically be a double agent working to take the first order down from the inside, but in playing this role for as long as he has, he starts trying to achieve peace through violence, and while Kylo is dealing with that, Rey learns that you can’t always be one extreme because of what you end up willing to sacrifice to achieve your goals

Dissecting the movie does not make it objectively worse, it is just pointing out the parts you find awful and nonsensical from a viewers perspective. Rags made a piss poor argument in this video, future insertions does not add value to his argument. For example; does Harry Potter become better or worse base off the author adding more context to the sexual orientation of a side character? The answer is no, you can absolutely ignore this context and still have the original that fueled it. It just shows how desperate the author is to supply a rhetoric artificially after more time to research and the potential damages. Rags being a pompous condenscending jerk is egregious and unwarranted because he proven the point of IHE and TRO while also only having his interpretation of a movie he personally didn't like (with a million others to be honest) validate his opinion towards semantics which doesn't make it right. It's an opinion. TRO apologizing was the right thing within that situation as he can admit when he is wrong when criticism occurs but Rags cannot. Rags also couldn't pick a side of "it's a movie, shut the fuck up and move on" and "it's objectively inferior compared to previous installations" which made him sound scatterbrained and contradictory.

IHE specifically lambasted all the people who defended Destiny 2 as being crazy fans who would defend it no matter what, and would not take on the legitimate criticisms head on. Despite this, in his TLJ review, he did exactly that. *That is the point of bringing it up.* I suppose you would have to have seen IHE's Destiny 2 video (which Rags wholly agrees with) to understand the hypocrisy in that matter, to be fair. But I must adamantly point out that his referral to the Destiny 2 video is 100% related to his calls of hypocrisy on IHE. If you watch the Destiny 2 video and replace the game's title with The Last Jedi, it's basically the exact opposite of IHE's TLJ video. (Also to be fair, Rags mentions it a lot because he did truely enjoy that video, and he's praised it before. This is IHE's commentary on Rags. He talked about it with his friend James and it was while they were discussing how Ian Hecox was upset with Alex criticizing the Smosh movie. James: If he's going to get upset by a video, then he should at least watch it. Alex: I do know the feeling, believe it or not, my equivalent one of those kinds of moments for me from my perspective would be that Rags video that he made on me. James: Oh, but that's a shit video. That's not the same, your video on him... Alex: I never made a video on him; I made a video on Smosh. James: That was actually fair points because this movie is shit but Rags made a stupid video on you about The Last Jedi and made no points and it was just a crap video. Alex: Yeah, for those who don't know I made a video on The Last Jedi on IHE which a lot of people have issues with, which I can understand some of and some did overreact to be fair. And then Rags made this very lengthy video which I'm not a fan of but he's allowed to think what he thinks I suppose. James: My first experience with Rags was a tweet. He retweeted onto my feed some 2006 PC Master Race memes and I instantly blocked him. Alex: Yeah, my number one issue with the Rags video was that it's strange to do a reaction type video without watching it first, whereas the way he was doing it was he'd watch a clip of the video then pause it and then go on like a diatribe about something, then continue. And then a lot of the time I would notice that after making some of his points and resumed the video that my next sentence would counterpoint, making his response irrelevant. James: It's a bad way to make a video like that because you'll just kind of... You know I mean; I can't say it. Alex: Yeah, if I could take My Last Jedi video back I would in some respects I think people were expecting a more, not negative but more of an explanation as to what I liked or disliked about the movie specifically. Whereas I kind of skipped over that intentionally to talk more about the fan response and the reactions and everything. It's my most disliked video by far out of every video I've ever made but I think the most positive thing I said about the movie aside from direct sort of positives about action sequences or vague things like that was my overall impression was that I liked the movie or I enjoyed the movie. I enjoy plenty of bad movies, I enjoyed The Meg. So, I was getting attacked, maybe not attacked but, Internet attacked over enjoying a movie. I did rent it. Now what little hope I had for the movie after the shit show that was TFA evaporate after seeing the trailer. Then because I had to know I looked up spoilers. However I also had a sort of curiosity to see it unfold for myself. The same reason I rented TROS. That said the combo of the trailer and spoilers made me refuse to watch it in theaters.
