Rockstar is over due a sequel for Bully. There has to be a market for a teen rated gta style game. I don't think a sequel could follow Jimmy tho, they'll probably need new characters and a new compelling narrative. But they totally need to put a grown up Jimmy Easter egg in the game. Or maybe even make him the dean or counselor? Idk there's so much you can do with this base concept

I really like the format change that they've done to the videos, it's gone from a standardized process to a more customized one for each game and really draws you in more to what each video is about. I really should pick this game up again. I’ve played and beaten it when the original version came out, and I loved it and the unique setting it had. Funny thing too, my mother came over and saw some gameplay (I was about 16 I think? Not sure) and see saw me have Jimmy beating up a teacher and throwing an egg at him. Want to know how she reacted to that? I swear, she went “oh my god! That was so cool!”. Yeah, thankfully she knew that games weren’t evil... and it probably reminded her a bit of her own childhood too. She literally used to get chased by police on her four wheeler when she was a kid, and my grandfather had to pay a fine to get the four wheeler back after she was caught (also keep in mind the police and the law was MUCH different and more lax with less those sort of things than they are now). Anyway, even she saw just how fun of an idea this game was.

No way. You've gotta stop in early chapters and grind rare eneny drops for hours to avoid missing anything. Star ocean Last Hope is another game that will drive you crazy trying not to miss anything. Both are amazing games.

Ahhh Bully. One of my favorite games of all time. I remember first playing when I was 15 going on 16. It was one of the last games I beat before getting a license and job. It's a perfect homage to my childhood and teenage years. I first beat the Scholarship edition on Wii. It was good.

I think Carl Johnson (CJ) from GTA San Andreas was a good if not the best GTA protagonist. "Hood culture" in general I think has never really been explained/emphasized as much as GTA San Andreas has done, and even there, you end up growing "out of the hood" and end up having crazy connections in the end. Sure, it starts with criminal activity, but hey, behind every successful rich man, is a crime or exploitation of others.

The rubber band ball and Elvis suit are cool and all, but you missed the most amazing thing in the game... Complete the Go-kart races, and you will unlock the Go-kart vehicle. The FASTEST mode of transportation that's not as hard on the thumbs as the bicycles.

They can’t monetize it as easily. A smaller setting like that can’t lend itself to the ___ Online model as it would devolve EVEN MORE into unkempt murderous chaos than GTA and RDO already do. In the end Rockstar has pivoted and while I’d love a bully sequel I just can’t imagine we’ll get it

@@patrickhughes9304 Well, the reason why it’s a small map is because of Hardware limitations, and the fact that it was rushed. Just look at GTA SA’s Map, we def could’ve gotten a bigger Bully Map. And even then, sure it may look like Bully couldn’t work well Online, but they just have to get creative. Implement new systems, vehicles, weapons, mechanics, etc. Heck, give me the resources and I could easily make Bully a fun, enjoyable and playable experience for an Online Multiplayer, it’s not *THAT* hard.

I'm from Brazil and I got to say... I can't remember the game being banned for real. But that's because most of people back in the ps1/ps2 era, usually buy their games from paralel retailers. Well... Piracy, is what I mean. The games where so expensive at the time (still are, actually) that people choose to get a jailbreak in the consoles and buying games for like... 10 Reais (US $3,25) But the people from that paralell market didn't care about what they were selling or for who they were selling. So kids at the age of 9 could buy violent games with their lunch money. That mentality of piracy in the video game comunity changed in the last few years thanks to services like Steam and the acessibility of the services of psn and microsoft live. . Also, fun fact. There's no such thing as a american high school here. The educational system is SO different here. So Bully or any other reference to a american high school makes no sense to us. Many movies and other media show american schools and colleges that are almost the opposite of what we have here. So there's no real reason for Bully to be banned here, simply makes no sense.

I have recently hit dry patch in gaming. Most games I've played recently are competitive and I find that instead of having fun I'm stressed out. I wish this game's level of detail in the fist fighting mechanics was found in more of Rockstar's other games. Note I didn't say the same mechanics, but that attention to detail and functionality is what I would love to see. Quite frankly, in a lot of Rockstar's GTA-style games, the fist fighting mechanics are usually the ones that are the least developed and often feel clunky and unwieldy, even in Red Dead Redemption II if you ask me. One other thing I always liked about Jimmy Hopkins as a character is that on top of having a good heart all the while acting like the tough guy, he also keeps up his exterior image by playing dumb. In fact, he often does this so convincingly that it's sometimes almost easy to forget that a lot of his statements are actually just him being brilliantly sarcastic. For example, when confronted with his defeat of Russell, the principle remarks, "I hear you're something of a pugilist." Jimmy's response is a snarky, "No sir, I've never pugilized in my life." Not only is he feigning ignorance, but he is playing the fool everyone takes him for, again for the purposes of survival and avoiding trouble. His narration between chapters of the story as well as other intervals and various commentary involve him using various words in the English language and speaking with proper diction, and what is obviously a great indicator of one who is of above average intelligence. There are many qualities to Jimmy Hopkins, especially those hidden behind his veil of delinquency.
