Looking for selective traits, whether it was for protection, herding hunting etc. Bulldogs are barrel chested for a reason too, so when they latched on the bull and the bull tried to slam them down it would soften the impact.

The original pocket sized bully is one of the four body types recognized by the abkc. What they call a pocket now is a gross distortion of what they used to be. They were built exactly like the dog in this video only they weighed between 40 and 50lbs. Look up razors edge and some old gotti line pockets idk if you can even post pics on youtube comments or i would post one of one of the most beast looking pockets that ever walked this earth, RIP. Coxtrong bullies line look up a dog named bosslady and silver sapphire line Texas Cowboy. You know nothing of the old school pockets sir. That was 10 years ago though. They used to lean alot more to the pit bulls favor in looks, but they've made an English bulldog out of them.

My girlfriend and I rescued a bully about a year ago before we knew anything about bullies We thought he was an am staff or something but just a few months ago we realized that he is in fact a bully He just turned 11 and he's the happiest, sweetest dog that I have ever met Love him to death So velcro dog and loves everyone and everything Bullies are my favorite breed now because of him

@@Getitstraightyo these aren’t pitbulls. They do have some Pitbull in their genetics to give them that look but their temperaments are very different. Pits where bred for sports like fighting, hunting, etc while am bullies are solely bred for human companionship. Most of the “pitbulls” that attack people aren’t real American Pitbull Terriers either but a mix of different bully breeds and maybe some other ones.

Hell yeah Fred! Just got a female off dually and Sasha from Fred. A beautiful beefy girl. Fred is a very stand up guy, and very easy to do business with and very fair. Saki and ichiban were awesome. Two of my favorite bullies ever. It’s crazy to see how the game has evolved since that era. The structure, the mass and temperament. The XL bully game was changed forever with those two. If my boy can develop to become half of what those two were I’d be happy lol. If I was to get an American Bully, I'd definitely put this man and his breeding stock at the top of my list, and I don't even know if he breeds dogs and makes them available to the public. The black dog that he's playing ball with is beautiful. They're different breeds though lol while yes american bulldogs were used in the beginning, the English bulldog and old English bull dog were also added for appearance purposes only. the foundation and temperment of these dogs are based off the American pitbull terrier and are not bred to be workers or guardian's, but for aesthetic purposes. Comparing the two is the same as comparing labradoodles to Labrador retrievers.

Hell yes hard to find a proper built bully these days. If I wanted an English bulldog I'd buy an English bulldog. Stop smooshing the damn faces, no more stumpy legs, and the chest is wide e-goddam-nough. Kinking the tails up so bad you got to dock them. There's already a bunch of dogs that look like that buy one of those breeds if that's what you want. Standards people you got to have standards. I Love this channel because they really love the breed like I do. Longer muzzle and legs, short body, strong, agile, hyper as hell, loves to cuddle and does the little hhhhhmmmmmmmhhhh moan through the nose when they're being fussy. That's how we like em, that's a bully.

I like the way cropped ears look, however I really don't get why cropped ears are allowed at show. In my opinion a show dog should be judged on EVERYTHING it's dna gave it. If a malformed ear can be cut off at birth and the dog does well at show, then that bad trait won't be bred out. Yea, I know the ears being malformed is usually not why they do it.

Cropping ears is an aesthetic i don’t think they judge particularly on their ears, and if all dogs have their ears cropped then it’s a level playing field. Regardless, your point of view is very valid.

They aren't cropped at birth. On average it's between 8-12 weeks of age that ears are cropped. They have to have their first shots... so it obviously can't be done at birth. A malformed ear would be detected by that time.

I love your channel man, so this is no criticism on you but: I have never understood this breed. Or why anyone would want it. I see an occasional bully that can move like a healthy athletic dog, but mostly, they are as handicapped as an English Bulldog, in other words, a breed that should no longer exist. I have been into the fighting breeds for over 40 years now, have seen and owned all manner, but this breed is what happens when stupid people get into dog breeding and decide that looks are everything. And then more stupid people think that's a great idea and buy those dogs. This breed is an improvement on no other breed, it exists only to visually impress (and it succeeds at that). And worst of all, the dogs themselves suffer, like the aforementioned English Bulldog. It's an obscenity.

Does anyone here know of any GOOD American Bully rescue groups? I saved a beautiful 5-year-old male from an LA city shelter about to kill him last Summer and have him in foster, but he needs to be the only dog (not raised well by original owner,) and needs to find his permanent home soon! His foster has to go back to the UK, so she cannot keep him. Thank you for any suggestions!!

But I've never understood the appeal of the American Bully, and still don't understand to this day what these dogs offer that neither an Amstaff, an American Bulldog nor a Staffie can offer. Clearly the muscle is more for visual purposes, and I would never say that I dont get a dog because it's not to my personal liking. Trust me IF you ever get one, you'd love them. They're between companion and working dog
