Just wanted to add one more thing. There are a lot of great breeders that do breed awesome Bullies. The standard is set. it's up to true breeders to improve it. Dave created a great breed. He liked both traits of old school pits and Am staffs. combined them and improved the best of both. That is what needs to be done.

I think when the breed started the bulldog genetics was always there but as the time went by and the breeding kept going the bulldog traits started to become a lil stronger it makes sense because if the male and female has the tiny strip of bulldog in them the puppies will come with more and more it is amazing the way he speaks of the breed now days a lot of breeders just focused on making money and not about showing people that bullies are not just the best looking breed but the best in companion and athleticism

At least many have stopped calling them APBTs. Now you got some beautiful UKC pits that still fit within the breed standards and are bullies but to classify some of them as the APBT is a shame. Glad most of the "out of pit breed standard" dog owners are moving away from that. They acknowledge what they have. Either way half the people if not more aren't doing serious health testing and this is basically a high end backyard breeder game for many with no regard for health. They ruin it for the serious folks who have put their lives into this.

its setting an ideal of Dog as a standard vision and breeding multiple breeds together in long term generational breeding program. Snuff what is unwanted and continue breeding the next generation with what you want. if you want short cuts, study Genetics in a petridish. test tube dogs. its what has been done for centuries by humans to get the dogs we have. just hope that there are enough breeders that love their animals and stay true with their principles. Puppy Mills or ruthless breeding programs who do it for money is what hurts. I see responsible guy pointing out the truth. this is a new breed that a guide line is being used and it takes generations sometimes to get a responsible bred animal.

My female we suspected of having some bulldog in her because the underbite with a nice structure and muscular. We chose a nice American bully to match her with and came out with very nice puppies. Only flaw in the small kinked tails.

No one really knows the mix. Because some people breeders aren't honest. A test was done on a famous bloodline that had amstaff, pitbull, English bulldog, Boston terrier, and pug. I think these dogs are a great start away from the terrible pool of pit bull's that flooded the market. It takes time to change the temperament and characteristics. I'd actually love to own a small bully like this as a pet.

+BullyBadAssTv I feel like the task of breed separation should be done better. The term " pit bull" is just like the term "hound", because it pertains to more than one breed of dog. I hate how he said that there are different "styles of pit bull " when the fact of the matter is that there are breeds that fall into the generalization "pit bull". Now I like American Bullies when they are correct and functional but I just have to ask what will be done with the xl classes. I understand that the breed is in its infancy but in order to be respected by the dog community we must have consistency😩

I talk with a lot of people, and based on their age, location, and history, and many other factors they'll use different terms. I knew what he meant so I didn't feel the need to have him clarify. And quite honestly if you listen to his context and specifically the point he was making its real easy to understand what breed he's talking about.

ahh ok interesting Im new to the whole american bully scene and i know american bulldog ( is a different dog ). In my opinion this breed American bully (the perfect way ) from the start is No 1 english bulldog and pitbull ( you want a healthy dogs to not pass on genetic defects ) No 2 you get a hybrid type dog the face of a pit and a stocky body build like a EB and i think you should just breed it like that ? am i right?? But then again theres other mix to it, like a Staffordshire Bull , Amstaf,bull terrier , the gene pool so tight and mix its recognize as a breed now

Concerning the adding of frog, I mean Bulldog to the breed he says, "I didn't like it at first...". But then he saw people buying these frog-like creatures and realized there is money to be made. Now we have very poor specimens walking around, because of it. Cane Corso or at least American Bulldog might have been a better choice to beef up the dogs. Maybe a LITTLE bit of English Bulldog if you wanted to sweeten the temperament a bit, but not too much.

All AMSTAFFS are pitbull. Not all pitbulls are AMSTAFF. American Staffordshire Terrier. In Augusta Ga. there are beautiful bully terriers bred. They are strong and easily trainable and healthy and are not wrinkled in the face.

I have a first gen from when the American Bully became an official breed. Lol, he’s not looking much anything like the newer generations. He’s as bully as it gets though. He looks more like a mini ‘Petie’ style pit bull. However, he’s so not pit bull in the least.

You have to love these dogs before they love you, whether it is a Pitbull, a Bully or an American Stafford. Let me tell you, these dogs can be clowns. They are by times as grazy as hell. Yes they can be agressive aswell, but very much is reliable of what the owner of these breeds teach them. Yes they can be dominant towards other animals, but that is also a point to keep in mind before you actually buy one. If you want any of these so called ‘game-dogs’, you can but be prepared. Read about their behaviour, know all pro’s and cons. If you have done that, you will have agreat dog, a wonderfull compagnon added to your life.
