Great activity. I remember being bullied as a child and how terrorized I used to feel. I did not realize what an effect it had on me till I started teaching this subject. I agree with you that the emotional wound never goes away. It something that affects someone deeply.

As someone bullied in school I got really depressed after seeing this video. I will forever be as ugly as a crumpled-up sheet of paper. Nothing more. For the rest of my life. There is no hope that anything will ever get better. :,(

Sadly i completed this activity with an aggressive 10 year old, his response was "dont care, its funny". I guess some kids just couldn't care less about their actions 😢. Its a great idea, and does work with a lot of kids.

Hi! I was just wondering. This sounds really helpful for the bullies, but for the kids that are being bullied, could it be more painful to hear that "the scars will never go away"? I wonder if it could make them feel like they can never recover from it or something like that.. did you notice anything around that with the kids that were being bullied?
@elisabethshabouk59033 жыл бұрын
The reality is they never really do go away. We can heal with time, of course. However I’ve not found this to be an issue.
@glorynnaji56903 жыл бұрын
Well I guess you can modify that part by telling them not to bully at all & remind them how a bullied child feels using the rough paper
@literacydiva1327 Жыл бұрын
This is a great activity. I would modify it slightly by saying that bullying can leave scars on the inside and outside. I wouldn't say that it doesn't go away because young children need to be hopeful about the future. I wouldn't want them to feel like damaged goods ever, but certainly not at a young age.
