I love dealing with griefers. I played conan on a server with an alpha clan who tormented anyone who didnt join them, or paid them "protection." I used to slip into their base, take pictures of them sleeping, and send them the pics, just to screw with them. Id set traps, ambushes... i didnt kill them a lot, there were other members of my group for that. No, i just made them waste healing supplies and time chasing me, back tracking. Id set landmines on paths in the dark.

@neurofiedyamato8763 oh yeah. We ended up with all their best stuff, including a sword the leader had sentimental attachment to. We offered peace, and an agreement they would stop griefing. They stop, we stop, he gets the sword back. They chose not to. I think he's still pissed. We sent him screenshots of us tossing the sword outside the map and it despawning. I don't normally revel in other players being angry at my actions, but those guys were to tier knobs. They hunted me relentlessly early on because I refused to give them half my resources in return for them maybe not using my level 5 character as target practice. It felt so good to pay them back for that. XD

@@mikoto7693I have a theory. I think the reason Rust is such a terrible, no good, very bad, horrible game, and ARK: Survival Evolved’s PvP is no better, is because Survival Games and PvP inherently go together about as well as Eggplants and ice cream. Generally speaking, any PvP games that everyone’s on the same map and don’t have gated areas that are the only places where PvP is allowed (most Fantasy MMORPGs, for instance, as the Epic NPC Man series is a parody of), are just generally extremely toxic. PvP functions better in match-based games, which can deal with hackers and toxic bullies by ensuring, unless the server is extremely extremely small, that you’re not likely to encounter the same hacker or bully each match, thanks to match randomization.
@TF2CrunchyFrog2 ай бұрын
I've heard terrible things about ARK Survival Evolved, where higher level players would camp the spawn points on the beach to capture new players spawning in and then enslave them. Which begs the question... why the hell are game devs of these games never smart enough to make the spawn zones either inaccessible to higher level players, or switching randomly, or otherwise protected? Heck, MMORPGs have figured that out!

I've been playing a creature survival game lately and some of the creatures take an hour or longer to grow You don't know pain until you've spawned in as a small baby and some giant creature swoops down and kills you, for literally no reason. It's especially bad if they're an herbivore and you watch as they walk away from your dead body

Most fun i had in Arma 2 dayz was when a swedish group built their base on the other side of a hill from my groups base. So obviously it started a full on war for best loot spawns. It ended with the server admin nuking both of our bases before the server wipe
@Dimetropteryx2 ай бұрын
We almost emptied a couple of Exile servers in Arma 3 doing that. Especially one loudmouth buddy of the admin and their friends kept harassing everyone else, stopping them from doing anything. The three of us got into their base, destroyed everything we could, and hunted them like animals from the second they logged in to the moment they left. Eventually they couldn't even get near their base after respawning, they couldn't complete any missions, or visit any trader. Eventually they left the whole server, with more or less just us and a few others left playing, and the admin very unhappy. They actually implemented new rules about using vehicles as weapons thanks to us.

Knew it right from the start. It was a trap. Reminds me of this ARK video I saw where one guy took on an entire clan like this and instead of being the bullies, they found themselves the victims as he bullied them until they just stopped logging in. A whole clan lost to one person.

If it did happen, just ignore them and keep playing, eventually you will find a respectable group or teammates, and just know once you do you'll be playing the game much more enjoyable than the bullies, who'll have a lot of baggage and drama on them, and eventually they aren't going to get far in the game world when it all catches up to them or let alone outside in the real world,

I mean as someone who's been playing a survival game for quite a while (hey it's only 1 but it counts) anyone who doesn't keep backup gear at base is definitely a noob, no matter how geared they are. I would craft great gear, but out of fear of dying and losing it, I'd just hoard it in the base and run around with basic stuff. If my base didn't get raided and my gear looted, I'd eventually get bored and abandon the game anyway.. Or in the case of ARK, I full on rage quitted when I saw my mighty Eagle get taken down by a pack of basic wolves when she refused to listen to my calls for her to flee.. I lost so many terrific animals in that game, but losing poor Angie was the last straw..

@@EvilGremlin100 first lesson of ark (single player) tame everything in sight and hope they'll protect each other :v
@mikoto76932 ай бұрын
I play Ark myself-on solo or PvE and my strategy is to build about three main bases across the map and make them proper double walled fortresses, with a network of smaller outposts that basically just have a spare set of gear and a fast flyer. Yeah it can be a pain making multiple gear sets and catching several Pterodactyls but it’s saved my bacon more times than I can count. Also when I decide I like a species such as the Argentavis (eagle) I always catch a male and female as soon as I can and keep them together in a large stone room in one of my forts. The “breeding pairs” never leave those bases. As soon as I get cryopods I keep them in those. It’s the offspring that I use to actually get stuff done. And if they die? Not really a problem because I can just breed another. Honestly I usually have a younger sibling already bred and partially trained waiting in my forts. Ark has taught me not to love a specific tame, but their bloodline. I have Argys, Rexes, Raptors, Ankys and Basilos that have quite literally served me for generations.
