I want to preface this by stating that I’m very forgetful. Also, we didn’t watch these episodes on the same day. I had no idea that Goku slid the garments off completely until now!! I just went back and watched that scene 3 times to realize that Goku first does the pat down. He then turns the other way and when he turns back around (looking towards us, the viewer) he’s in shock with the undies in his hands!! Madison and I totally missed that! I think we were still in shock about the pat down… Thanks for pointing that out lol!

In the original version, Muten Roshi tried to call a phenix, the legendary bird to give to Goku immortality. But the bird died of food infection. Too bad for an undieable bird ^^

In the german version of Dragon Ball, they censored every dirty gag or let the characters say even other things. I learned about the "original plots" in the manga, where the dirty scenes like this are very... detailed.

Goku's naivety and inquisitiveness gave us a good scene with Bulma and Roshi 😂 I can't wait to see you guys react to Goku/Chi-Chi/Yamcha's interactions. Her and Goku have an adorable relationship and his inquisitiveness has no end lol (you'll see). Chi-Chi was so sweet before she became the Tiger Mom we all -mostly- tolerate in DBZ.

I'm sorry, I'm not a woman, I've never worn a dress but... I think kind of hard not to notice that you're not wearing underwear, on a beach, because on the beach it's quite windy and... Bulma would feel the wind in her... umm. .. well, besides the clothes. I don't know, I believe that a woman would notice that she is a little too windy, and then she would notice that she has no underwear on... I guess.

Toriyama didn't hold back at all writing and drawing the first chapters of Dragon Ball 😂😂😂. And its even weirder because Shonen Jump weekly magazines were catered for young boys with age range of 11-16. The world was also different in the 80s (Dragon Ball started serialization in November, 1984)

In episode 2 Goku laid down on bulma while she was sleeping, as he used to do with his grampa. But when he felt Bulma had no balls, he took her panties off, remember? Goku freaked out when he saw Bulma had no balls, and screamed "no balls". Bulma woke up thinking he was talking about the Dragon Balls. She never realized until the end of this episode. Remember Goku doesn't know anything about this, so to him it was strange girls "have no balls"

Madison will quickly come to understand why they can gather the Dragon Balls so fast once she sees the ridiculous wishes they make with them. This really is a slice of life anime adventure which only starts to take itself seriously until waaaay later which is what makes it enjoyable to watch in a far different sense than DBZ.

Yeah OG Dragonball had Bulma showing off a lot. Part of the reason OG Dragonball has had so few releases. Back in the early 80's censorship in Japan was really lax compared to today.
