Technically, Pilaf isn't really an Emperor. That palace he lives in was already abandoned and made himself right at home. And there's not a living soul that lives in the area he lives in. The fact he calls himself Emperor is more of a self-proclaimed title he gave himself. He's all talk when he's literally a coward as much as his minions are.

He reminds me of team rocket in Pokémon, and I love team rocket. Yes they are cowards sometimes at most things and self proclaimed the best, but you gotta hand something to them. They DON'T give up. If you want to keep it real with a cartoon, then I have to say their tenacity is superhuman, since most people would've given up MANY of their countless failures ago. So I would say they at least aren't cowardly when it matters in those times, SPECIALLY knowing they're messing with monsters capable of at least decimating an entire city with 1 hand blast. I would call them, from that perspective, brave.

5:05 it's not Gyumao - the Ox King in English - who summoned the fire. He went for a picnic with Chichi out of their castle and a lighting struck the mountain, putting it on fire. Since they live in the valley and Gyumao killed only people who are after his treasure. Chichi is a pure heart that's for sure but she's very very VERY found of love affairs. And she's only 12 like Son Goku 🙄 after the falling, when she blushed she originally said to Goku "yes my darling" and made the ohohoho sound after repeated it. So yes we can say that she already fell in love with Goku 😅

Tbh non of these main characters are evil. Yamcha is a desert thief not a murderer or something. Oolong is just a naughty & pervy pig and Ox King is an over-protective short tempered person, none of this is a definition of evil. Although, you will see some characters in the later half of the show that were actually evil.

In the Dragon Ball Z guide books Goku's power level is 10 pilaf power level is 40 with my and shoot power with Mia and Shun power level both being 20. So that's why I don't believe the guidebook on power scaling. My own power scaling theory is Goku's power level is 40 and pilaf with his minion power level 10 which is still five higher than a average person. That would explain some of their more superhuman feet in the original Dragon Ball series.

Another reason I like classic Dragon Ball, characters like Chi Chi, Ox King and Yamcha are like competent and efficient in this series whereas in later shows they get reduced to background dressing that don't do much.

Early Yamcha was actually pretty strong. He would've killed hungry Goku (who was trained by Gohan, Roshi's equal) for sure if there was no Bulma. Even when Goku wasn't hungry, Yamcha wasn't completely outclassed. Dude was very resourceful for a bandit without a backing.

Potential SPOILERS below Unfortunately that's just early Yamcha. He later just gets outclassed by many, even in DB. No wonder he becomes a meme character in DBZ, fully exploited in DBZA.

@@ssjgoku276 True. I think if he have motivation to train, he could be stronger than Krilin or even Tien. Tien trained his whole life with Roshi's rival, Master Shen. After 4 years trained with Roshi, Krilin barely able to do Kamehameha, while Yamcha already mastered Kamehameha only after 3 years of training. Too bad he was distracted too much.

He is a strong fighter no doubt but he was just outclassed from the start. Yamcha is really good when it comes to fighting and training, it's just that everyone around him is stronger 😂. He no longer fights with the main Z Fighter squad in the current time line, but he is still a martial artist.
