Cool but How many variants are Bulova going to make before they put an Auto in the lunar pilot. Ps I have the 43mm but don't think it wears that big but put an auto at 41mm already! Cheers

I think an automatic lunar pilot might defeat the purpose of the watch. I mean I know you and I aren't going into space but....ya know.

This watch needs that super accurate quartz smooth second hand. More durable, accurate and less magnetic vulnerability than an automatic.
@gregalonzo9504Ай бұрын
For me this size is perfect.

43mm is a good size. But I suspect these would sell out at 40mm or 41mm.

Where is the black leather strap with red stitching?
@rossmazer6980Ай бұрын
Honestly I think the bracelet is one of the great points of this watch. Very high end. However I will admit that it does wear better on the leather nato that came with it.

What's the point of a 262 kHz quartz movement that isnt a Precisionist movement? That slow ticking seconds hand really bothers me. I love the seconds hands of my Bulova Precisionist watches which tick 16 tines per second.
@killingtime7350Ай бұрын
I thought that the 262khz was the precisionist quartz movement, like in the Burgundy Jet Star 96B401, if not can you please tell me the difference. I’ve got a 3 Bulova watches but must buy one of the Jet Star watches, cheers
@dns711Ай бұрын
@killingtime7350 I love my Jet Star. The Precisionist movement in that watch causes the seconds hand to tick 16 tines per second, which is almost imperceptible. The small seconds hand on the Lunar Pilot ticks twice per second, which is almost as bad as a conventional quartz movement.

39mm lunar pilot would be amazing as a bonus change the crystal out to a slightly domed crystal 😊😊😊

Size-wise, how does these wear compared to a current (late 2024) Omega Speedmaster?

What size was the original that was worn on the moon? Just curious
@ichris2011Ай бұрын
43mm, believe it or not. This size is true to the original
@nickfoster3637Ай бұрын
@ichris2011 that is surprising. I want one. Maybe if they fall in price next year..

Interesting watch for the price. They could figure out how to build an automatic version for under $4k (using a miyota auto) that people will buy. In 10-15 years this quartz version will end up collecting dust in someone's drawer because the quartz movement gave up the ghost or just got sick of replacing batteries every two years because this particular movement eats batteries (I have a lunar pilot that eats batteries after less than two years). Longines figured it out (autos for less than 4k). For those of us who appreciate automatic movements. Just saying.

So I own an Islander "Turtle" homage of the Seiko SRP777 and it has a diameter of 45mm and a thickness of 16 mm with a ridiculously domed crystal. That seems to fit fine on my 7.25" wrist. Does anyone have both of these watches to give me an idea of how this Lunar Pilot would fit on me? I have been contemplating one for a few years now but there are so many reviews out there that are critical of the size that I have been hesitant to buy one.
@ichris2011Ай бұрын
The turtle wears completely different. It’s 47 lug to lug. I’ve owned both and found the turtle a perfect watch, and the lunar pilot too big. It wears long and flat

I might be tempted at 38mm. I have a 6.75" wrist, and as I have gotten older, my tastes have gone to smaller watches. I really like 35mm or 36mm cases now.
@lawrence-ec5dmАй бұрын
They do know a smaller model.

Love the color, love the movement, sadly they missed on the size and it's concerning to see the profile of the crystal. Striking the door jam just the right way and it's off to the jewelers'. It's a pass for me.
@alexsdg3441Ай бұрын
"not my favorite" about the clasp. Thanks for your comment. 😁 By the way, too RED and the crystal seems to be bit dangerous to be like that. It might chip! Thanks for the review. PS : the RED with silver sub dial make the watch bit cheap looking, unfortunately.

Bulova's idea of a mini lunar pilot is 43mm lol. My wrist is 6 inches. I wish they made it in 40mm
