As owner of Hness 1st Anniversary edition, i agree with the point concerning lower torque but i hv already rode 1200 km + within 10 days. This is the ultimate highway tourer. I drove it for 400 km straight (5 hrs drive) and Man what a ride quality , 99% of the time i was on 5th gear cruising 80-90 km/h and mileage was around 45+. @@ramabommerla4988 Take a test ride of both bikes and find it out yourself. From what I heard, the lower seat height in Meteor 350 helps short riders in bumper to bumper traffic. But with some riding gear one can manage well in a CB 350 Highness also. Also if you are concerned about mileage and long term reliability then it's a no brainer to choose Honda CB 350. Hope this helps.

I rode both..the Meteor is a huge improvement on the previous push rod models but I found the Honda to be in another league altogether..Professionals like Bulu Bhai may desire more power but for us ordinary mortals the power and torque offered in the CB350 is more than adequate to effortlessly cruise at 100kmph ( even at 110 ) for the whole day..you will not go wrong with the meteor either but it's just not as refined as the Honda in the power train department..
@satishthakur44252 жыл бұрын
Reasonably speaking... the reason for 5th gear being extensively tall in honda cb350 is that.....it helps a lot with hypermiling at high speeds..... For the one who doesn't know about hypermiling, it's a way by which a bike can return very great fuel economy on highways by turning throttle fully wide open. There is a whole video about it on Fortnine's channel.

Both are excellent rides for normal riders who don't go for much off roading. My friend has a meteor and I have H'ness. Neither of us regrets our purchase. However some things you need to consider. 1) Comfort: The Meteor is really comfortable if you don't drive more than 100-150 km. After that you'll initially face some slight pain but you'll get used to it. H'ness allows you to move around on the seat so it's a little better in that way. However Meteor straight up has a better seat in terms of butt comfort. 2) Speed: Nothing much to say here. H'ness is just faster. Around 10-15%. But you'll enjoy both of them and meteor won't fall too far behind once you get on the highway. 3)Refinement: Once you wear your riding gear and gloves, both are really refined. However after riding 100 or so km without stopping, the meteor feels just a little bit more vibrating. But that's nitpicking. Both are excellent highway tourers. 4) Gearing and mileage: Gearing straight up is better on the Meteor. Not in terms of shifts because H'ness has excellent shifts but in terms of how the gears are ratio'd. You'll have to be more involved with the cb350. However the bright side to that is better mileage. Expect a 3-4 kmpl better mileage on the Honda for the same riding styles. 5) Pricing: This was the deal breaker for me for meteor. The Meteor here in Lucknow cost around 2.6 lakhs on road with some accessories but the CB350 cost nearly 15k less. So whatever doubt I had about which bike I should buy was cleared the very moment I saw the prices. Again, both of these are excellent machines but I prefer the Honda just a little bit more even ignoring the pricing.
@Raja-mc3zt2 жыл бұрын
Nicely summarised. The positive of Royal Enfield engines are their powerful low end torque and the gearing ratios on top of a stable macho classic build. RE still bossing it like nobody else, the reason the many people who love RE continue to go for it. Honda on the other hand provides a different version. Honda’s top end speed is powerful, engined is more refined. However the stability, low end torque and gear ratio can’t be compared to RE. To tackle RE’s better stability, Honda has added Traction Control. To tackle RE’s gear ratio benefits, Honda has added assist slipper clutch. The low end torque cannot be competed with Enfield engine since RE is built for it. The difference between RE and Honda is that, RE builds their engine and machine to get that thump and character naturally. RE is an authentic classic built machine with little touch of modern tech like ABS. On the other hand, Honda is a modern sporty engine bundled with all glossy techs with little touch of classic bike. Now what a person likes is upto their preference and their style. All I can say is that Royal Enfield quickly developed a cult following across the globe in recent years for their unadulterated classic biking experience which our Indians do not appreciate much 😅.

@saurabhchandra62673 жыл бұрын
Re is a tough to maintain bike with service intervals every 2000 km. Also it's heavy and gives a lot of vibrations at 90+ speed. Re parts are not upto the mark and I personally don't prefer chrome which eventually rusts. On the other hand, honda cb350 has a service interval of 6000 km and it doesn't produce vibrations at high speeds. Also they have done a good job tuning it for a cruising speed of 70-90 kmph, delivering 42-44 kmpl mileage at such speeds. Its tall 5th gear works at relatively low rpm at 90 kmph which makes it fuel efficient. It's the best cruiser ever made in india. I mean the petrol prices have gone above 100. Also if you compare it with avenger 220, the avenger delivers a mileage of 35 kmpl at 90 kmph. Now that's where honda CB 350 shines. It's not a performance bike but an efficient cruiser that could happily do 90-100 kmph all day long. P.S. even 100 cc bikes would give a mileage 30-35 kmpl at high speeds bcoz they work at high rpm and thus get easily stressed out.

Honda is very reliable. The bikes does not fail during long rides. I did my 1600 km long ride on Honda Trigger CBS and I rode continuously, nonstop. I was trying to do the saddle sore challenge which I failed 😅 but the bike felt smooth, the engine was stress free and the bike didn’t fail.

For once a review that's really really honest. No BS. Just facts. Thank you for making the choice for us. Right, my emotions are with RE, I love the RE, RE sings "Im sexy and I know it". but RE's vibration, heat and the service center nightmare is a definite no no. Many have said that cB350 is smooth and peace of mind. Now that you have given ur verdict.. CB350 it is..

The choice is clear. Honda is smoother as u told it is just like Honda Unicorn. I have used Unicorn for 13 years, it is a no problem bike. The R&D of Enfield is doing thru customers, Honda is released thru R&D at their factory itself. When u r spending 2 lacs so any u need a reliable & smoother bike.

Bulu bhai I have a friend who has a hiness and he is one of the first batch customers and he has faced many problems. One thing you missed in the video is the maintenance. My friend suddenly got his clutch cable torn just while riding in the city without any harsh riding. Also he has a technical problem in his console where is mileage is stuck at 25 kpml and doesn't change no matter how you ride it. Also there has been issue with actual mileage, starting problem sometimes. Also, there have been problems coming up with high altitude engine issue in CB350. So I would say it is never recommended to buy a first batch bikes, because every company does RnD on the first batch customers.

RE had quality issues during old times. However they are a brand who improved and improving at much faster pace right now. In every place RE had released their new machines like Interceptor, Continental and Meteor series are instant hit. World biking community rate them high for the quality and the authentic classic bike experience it brings. So people who are rating RE low due to their buggy past are doing mistake. The one problem for RE in India is their irresponsible service centres. Our street mechanic is more courteous and skilled than many RE service centres. Or May be the service centres don’t worry about customers since RE is selling like a piece of cake with several months of waiting period right now.
