From the 70s through to the thru to 2015. Irreverence was on the socially liberal/ left side of politics. Look at the comics from that era. [Tech, literary world, new age alternative medicine too] Until they the comics, the tech world, some authors, the new agers , got chased off by the SJW hateful, joyless, cancel culture, deeply disturbed scolds. 3rd wave feminism was cool, optimistic. SJW/ 4th wave feminism is not. SJW, this odious creed started in the late 2000s, on the two blogs feministe and feministing . They were the bible of the millennial, campus left. Hence the campus craziness from 2011 onwards. From there it escaped containment, as these people graduated.

YES!! Thank God you pointed this out. All of these formerly liberal comedians are open to normal people coming on and offering a different POV and also fact-checking. Because literally none of them know anything about politics. Rogan has said the dumbest stuff and no one has corrected it. I don’t get why people don’t call all the MAGA guys like Vivek suck-ups and show a video of him saying douche-y stuff. Mark Cuban has done all that in perfect ways too and the bros like/listen to him. I wish Jimmy Kimmel would go on some of them. Jon Stewart. We need our down to earth Dems to go everywhere all the time and build relationships and trust. And it’s scary that we don’t have a comm strategist or that our best liberal pundits didn’t get this until 3 months ago. Especially because Biden left such a comm vacuum. And I like Kamala (now) but she actually wasn’t that great at it and it was also too little too late. Rogan, Theo and Lex Fridman all posted something about having wanted Dems to come on and were rebuffed. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to get how that’s also going to color their perception. Sorry, it’s just been disheartening to have this be such a topic of conversation when it seems so obvious. I guess we always assume our strategists and pundits know better and it’s scary to see how badly the liberal comms strategy (none) ball was dropped. And how cowardly/risk averse and beholden to ideologues and purists we’ve been. For years now. Lastly, can’t we get a bunch of political interns to watch all the podcasts and report back to comm leaders and pundits? Because it’s obvious they don’t listen. Otherwise I promise you they wouldn’t all be propping up Charlemagne tha God. Because the person he portrays on the more serious platforms is nothing like what he is on The Breakfast Club and Brilliant Idiots. He’s spread a ton of toxic misinformation on a daily basis. Anderson Cioper is the only person who pushed back on his know-it-all/contrarian-ness and literally called it bullshit. And CTG respected him for doing it. It was interesting. These guys are all about people being strong and their disdain for Biden knew no bounds. If Biden had been 10-15 yrs younger he could have also gone on these shows and had fun. Instead he was the least accessible to the public presidents which was the absolute worst time in our history to be that when we needed an army to go out and slay MAGA propaganda. And we did the opposite. I can’t wait for the tables to turn 🙏

The Dems have been absolutely terrible at messaging my entire life, and I'm in my 50s. It's all super-sanitized extremely clumsy and bumbling word vomit from carefully selected focus groups of the "right sort of voter". Even their genuinely based policies are sold in corporate/Beltway speak that most voters either don't understand or are viscerally repulsed by because it just doesn't sound authentic. And they NEVER fight back against downright dishonest or imaginary right-wing talking points, because "that would be rude" or some such BS. The entire DNC consultant class and comms teams need completely cleaned out and start again with actual people.

"Screw the man" with TRUMP as the candidate is irrational.🤦♀️

I thought that was a really silly take. They aren't "screw the man" they're "screw the Libs" and anyone else that isn't MAGA. In there minds Trump and his enablers are "the man" - they see themselves as alpha dogs. They kept talking about how was it was time for daddy to come home, lay down the law, and give the kids a good spanking. I like the Bulwark but sometimes their conservative bias really shows through.

I watched your clip of this fool, Theo Vonn. I see your point Tim, but am disgusted that that ignorant fool actually sways opinions. He is uninformed and naive and should not be listened too, despite us having to take him seriously. This country disgusts me.

The democrats don’t need a new gimmick. Is this fascination with bros a case of looking for a new patsy now that African Americans are abandoning the democrats.

Sorry, you’re wrong. This is the couch vote that stayed home in 24. It’s Gaza, Wall Street donors, McKenzie consultants, and constant scolds that push them away. He’s for all the things democrats just pander to. Young people notice this. They don’t vote for trump, but they aren’t voting for shit foreign, and economic politics while you tell them that’s shits fine and they can’t pay off student debt, buy a house, buy groceries, and watch our government pay for weapons around the world. They get it. The Democrats clearly don’t.

I like that the left winger Podcasters are going on right wing shows to debate or are inviting right wingers on to debate. These shows with debates are gaining viewers. I hate Piers Morgan, but his channel is growing fast from these left/right debates. This is how the pro democracy and left can get their points, truth and narratives out to right wing viewers that would NEVER otherwise hear them.
