It goes a bit further. It appears that Putin wants to create a coalition of 'dictators'. Putin, Kim of North Korea, Khameneh of Iran, Assad of Syria, and the list goes on. In fact, Hillary Clinton, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Celine Dion all share the same 9th Great Grandparents from 1600s French Quebec Colony from my grandfather's mother's ancestors. The *real* money that moves nations and politics is in corporate industrialists and tech giants nowadays, and in the old days it was family land and title (“old money”). So our hands have *ALWAYS* been tied. But you are right that the specific current debacle ties our hands even more than usual. @ReturnToSenderzАй бұрын
I agree. It’s also frustrating for the people in non-swing states because it feels like their votes don’t matter. I think it actively suppresses the vote from the political minority. For example, there’s not a lot of urgency for a Democrat in North Dakota to vote in the presidential election because there’s a 0% chance that the state will go blue. I think the left-leaning North Dakotans are underrepresented at the ballot box, and the same goes for the right-leaning voters in Minnesota. If we switched to proportionally distributed electoral votes or, even better, got rid of the electoral college altogether, I think we’d see more active participation in the non-swing states.

Let’s be clear about abortions in the second half of pregnancy (1% of abortions in the US): these are not elective abortions; they don’t involve healthy mothers and fetuses with a good prognosis. We need to allow medical providers to use their training and knowledge of individual circumstances to decide, within the standards and practices of their profession, which treatment options are appropriate. They should not have to fear losing their license, livelihood and freedom when they exercise their best professional judgment. They should not have their hands tied because of the uninformed opinions of some a-hole with a business degree, nor should they have to consider what is “popular”.

I live in Minnesota. There are federal loans that protect babies born alive and doctors follow the hippocratic oath. What not having restriction on abortions does is it gives doctor the power to act quickly in an emergency if necessary. If a baby is born with a terminal condition, families get to decide if they want medical interventions while dealing with end of life. There is NO evidence that doctors or patients are abusing any of this. What we dont' have are cases ending up in court after women are grieving infants making their lives harder. Trust people and doctors with their own bodies and healthcare.
