I am only 13 and I actually really enjoyed the money talk. Basically it was all thanks to youtube. By the time I had to start repaying my loans, youtube was paying enough to just barely cover the payments, plus I had a job. It helped SO much with the burden. My minimum payments were about $400, but I voluntarily raised it to $1000 per month because I decided I wanted my loans payed off in 3 years. I was also splitting rent with Christian by that time. As my channel grew, I made some extra loan payments here and there, but I thought I would finish about 6 months ahead, not a year. It was all thanks to my increased views this October, November, and December (combined with higher pay thanks to the holidays) that gave me the extra income to fully pay it off. It was pure luck that I had 2 videos go big, along with additional views on my other videos in the highest paying months of the year. So it's definitely not a typical loan repayment strategy.

I picked it up in December at Deserres (an art store). Around Nov-Jan is when you can find ones that are from the start of the year to the end. They are available all year round, but you see a lot of them around that time. In summer you see a lot of student planners that run from summer to summer.

Congratulations on your debt repayment 🤗 in the UK student loans are expensive too I'm hoping my daughter goes to Uni but I'm not too happy about the debts left at the end - but hopefully like you she can pay them off quickly. Such a burden! But you do have a degree to show for it I suppose. Is it the norm to rent in Canada or have a mortgage? +debbiefloss99 In most places, having a mortgage is the norm, but in Vancouver, renting is super common, particularly for apartments and townhouses, or even for half a house. Buying condos is also popular. The reason is a 3-4 bedroom detached home averages 1.2 million dollars. I would rather put my money towards a mortgage than rent, but I can't qualify yet since I haven't been self-employed long enough. I'll need 3 years total before I can do that. Plus, I only have 10k saved so far for a down payment.
