I loved the tease to Sector 7 from Transformers for Bumblebee and seeing how it started was nice. Also Bumblebee transforming to a 70's Chevy Camaro was a nice way of connecting it to Transformers (2007). Yes they are connecting it to the first Transformers film but I want to see them just make a character driven storyline for the transformers as they all reunite and protect earth from the Decepticons. The Breakfast Club theme playing throughout the film was hilarious.

The only thing I did like from the bayverse was the apocalyptic atmosphere from dark of the moon. Even though the plot of the movies all sucked and revolved around special technology #432, the escalation to the destruction and capture of an entire city was cool. Something like that is the only thing I would want carried over to some extent.

I'm glad the middle finger was given to Michael Bay. This franchise should have been in a fan boys hands from the get. Changing in to the camero was cool but I would have been even happier if this was a total reboot all together. As a owner of the original transformer movie DVD I immediately caught the you got the touch song. You also failed to mention cliffjumper had the original head for himself and bumblebee. The timeline to the original is gone with Prime already on earth. The 2007 transformer toyline had Prime in his transport mode when he crashs to earth and he scans a diesel afterwards, but in this movie he is already here.

So, it was Megatron to taken Bumblebee’s Voice, and in Bumblebee movie, Bliztwing stabbed Bumblebee’s neck and taken his voice. I feel bad for Bumblebee. But Bumblebee got his voice back in Transformers 2007, then Transformers The Last Knight 2017.

Bumblebee being injured by a Decepticon jet and stuck in VW Beetle mode, found by a teenager, taken home, repaired and then revealing himself as a Transformer, is also one of the early events of the original comic by Marvel. In the comic the teen was Buster Witwicky. Of course, the 2007 movie does something similar also. And the thinking behind all of them probably came from the Herbie movies anyway.

While The Touch was prominently featured in the 1986 movie, the actual theme was "The Transformers (theme)". It was a Glam Metal song based on the cartoon theme song. The Touch is more of an arena rock song, which was originally intended for the Sylvester Stallone movie Cobra.

One reference that barely anybody noticed was during the fight between Bumblebee and Dropkick where Dropkick lifts bumblebee and throws him, bumblebee then transforms, turns around and drives back towards Dropkick and transforms to tackle him, this was a reference to the G1 opening where Skywarp throws Jazz and he does the same maneuver.

At the end of the movie, when Dropkick and Bumbelbee fight, Dropkick grabs Bee and throws him. Bee recoveres by transforming into vehicle mode and turns aroud to charge Dropkick again. If you have seen the Generation 1 cartoon season 1 intro you might recognize that move. In the G1 intro decepticon Skywarp grabs an autobot, called Jazz. He throws Jazz, but Jazz manages to recover by transforming and then attacks Skywarp again. I can't be the only one, who noticed it.
