Hmm if although a negative sounding name does give one cause to consider.... If the decepticons were named "benevolons" or "friendlibots" would you trust them solely on their name? Actually the ridiculous fact that the transformers 'species' names are in english, and have meanings that correspond to their nature should be the sin. Basically the decepticons should just have some weird alien faction names and the autobots too. Even the empire in star wars doesnt call itself "the evil empire" It would make more sense if it was "Dershektoo vs Rablaktri!" If need be Dershektobots and Rablaktrimechs. Or if it had to be more englishy and not some made up alien speech, make it descriptive but not alluding to any demeanor. Like "tribe of optimus" and "megatronians" or something. Even if the decepticons just had another name for themselves but the autobots named them decepticons, that would be cool too. But them naming themselves decepticons without some explanation of a ridiculous coincidence that the cybertronian language name for the followers of megatron just happens to sound like 'decepticon' in english makes it stupid and childish. They might just as well have called themself 'badbots' or 'evildroidz'

Just like in so many other sci-fi stories, the denizens have been watching Earth's broadcast television for decades, learning about our culture. Just like all of us, the Autobots and Decepticons find the G1 Transformers cartoon highly entertaining, so they adopted Earth-like forms on Cybertron. Think of it as the robot equivalent to cosplay.

Even then, I like how they sometimes change the eye colors, too. Like some can have purple or yellow, or Autobots can have red, and vise versa with Decepticons, etc. like, that’s also not the only thing that identifies them as either side. I think the main and obvious reason ANYONE can tell, is if they’re literally FIGHTING the other side xD Tho I really wanna know more of an explanation about eye colors tbh, like why do Decepticons have red eyes? Michael Bay was a producer on this movie, which means he still had a lot of say in what went on in the movie. Kinda like how Christopher Nolan was a producer on Man of Steel. You can still feel their presence, because they are paying for a chunk of the movie to be made.

Hand signals are given by the guy in the lead, then copied by everyone in the formation, to not only pass the command back but also show that you confirm that command. The guy in the rear is showing the sign, so if his team leader looks back, the team leader knows the guy in the rear saw the signal to halt

Yeah, it had it's dumb moments, but back then seeing those big robots fighting on the big screen like that was pretty damn cool. However, I can agree that the next several films ranged from incredibly stupid to pretty lukewarm. Bumblebee on the other hand, I'm glad I saw that in the theater. I actually really liked it, and I hope that if more films are still planned that they take lessons from this film and not Transformers 2 through 5. At the very least, have Michael Bay simply produce the future films while having them directed by folks who don't try to pander to the lowest common denominator of audiences.
