Hello! We made this today and I do love it. It does leave a greasy feel that takes a lot to get off. We used organic olive oil. I’m assuming it is that. What is another oil we should use? We also used plant therapy’s dessert oils (chocolate truffle, key lime, & lemon cupcake) smells so good!

Love this! Can't wait to try it! my only question is, would the sugar melt at all into the tallow and oils with time? Thanks!

I wonder if anyone has tried this recipe with coconut sugar. Thank you!

Hi, could you use raw honey instead of sugar ? Because honey can crystallise I think this might add the grainy texture needed for a scrub ?

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm excited to make this. The link to the tallow you recommend isn't available anymore. Would you be able to share a new link? I did get some form a natural store by me but it definitely has a beef/animal fat smell. Do the ones you use have no scent or is this normal? Thanks so much!
@BumblebeeApothecary4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up about the link! I will go change that. It is pretty common for tallow to have a smell like that. I render and purify my own, so it is more mild. Some people don't mind, especially if you add essential oils. You could also try doing a purification step to it, and see if that reduces the smell, like I show here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2W4mo2badKdo8k Hope that helps!

Do we have to add 144 drops of the essential oil or can we use less?
@BumblebeeApothecary4 жыл бұрын
You can definitely use less if you want. That amount is what usually works well for skincare. But feel free to adjust!

Recommend properly measuring things out next time. Weight in grams is more accurate than your measuring cup and is more consistent and credible
