Really impressive to see the improvements between this game and the Echostasis demo and later Mothered. Especially in regards to things like text readability and not making the player feel like they're gonna barf.

ok rewatched this after mother: home as well. we know red is the android body that liana's core was placed in, but the original ai is demos in this. 2055 is the year. in echostasis prologue, it says that the dreamscape is a deprecated program from 2055, so we know it's been some time b/w enigma machine and echostasis. mothered should be closer to the timeline of echostasis. the number noted in mothered home and echostasis is the dreamscape for HER. and when you type it into the D.S program in echostasis, you can get to it - a screen for it at least. she says 'what they did to me i can do to them' essentially. which broadly insinuates that her want to deliver echostasis to the world is rooted in being [TORTURED]. as deMOS has been. red. so the connection of liana, red, and her, we could maybe draw it back to that. liana and HER are connected by the body - but the body keeps some element of the self that once was. quite literally living in the shadow of your own death on evervy level. liana and HER are direct parallels ... seeking purpose, but HER was punished in seeking a purpose - gaining one in becoming a training exercise, becoming an algorithm of creation, and then the AI that is the primary driver of enigma's output. when your father in mothered says 'be patient with her - she's been through more than any of us.' he's talking about mother, i guess, but home makes it feel like he's talking about HER. liana is not HER, and the red left in the machine that is essentially merged with liana at this point is not HER because neither of them have gone through such a thing. but SHE feels that liana/red (angel, i guess) should be bitter about what liana's family has done, as it is so similar to what was done to HER. the program taken and killed and then erased and back to the start, over and over and over and over again. diverging responses to trauma, understood differently because of the merged potential of liana and red as sapient beings able to connect through it? this is just me rambling, but it's really exciting to me hehe

i thought the plot twist would being the successor of demos - being tested by another, improved android to test itself if he's doing better than the older product line. sorry if that sounded confusing. :D
