Bumper mounted intercooler on my Silverado worked awesome. Much cleaner than grille mounted!

One thing to consider is rubber mount that intercooler. Will save on vibrations cracking or breaking something. You could also use some perforated steel to use as a "rock" guard if you will to protect the intercooler being down that low.

I’ll need to find a few pieces of thin rubber to sandwich in there, thanks for the suggestion. I don’t want it cracking!

I have my tru cool 40k mounted exactly where you are putting that intercooler. Mine is a 99 silverado with the z71 lower valence. I ended up having to cut in an airflow grille into the valence to get enough airflow to the trans cooler.

@StationroadRatrods I really want to mount my radiator in the rear just for my own shits and giggles but I can't seem to find a good way

I did it in the rat rod and it worked very well, but I didn’t have a bed floor so there was lots of airflow from in underneath. Until it blew off a pipe and dumped all the coolant under my tires, that wasn’t so fun
