As usual a wealth of information... Thanks lance..I'm puting together my 35 petrol engine at the moment.. Done the rotating assembly... Oil pump and top in next copple of days... 35 diesel 23c needs a PROPER build as I use a bit and needs to be 100% reliable.. Oh well one day I'll get the courage

Lance -I did not know that so I will be storing that in the grey cells..I still operate an old mf 65 192 motor the same I operated as a boy.So reliable, so cheap to run, just frontend loader work..It has save me thousands It must saved me 10--15 thou on my driveway alone..I took the top off the backend a few years ago to have a look--crown wheel and pinion and not a mark on them..I could replace the precombustion chambers in the head but stuff it..regards E

Great old tractor the 65. There was quite a few in our area.

Ususally easiest to replace followers when they are readily available. I find most engines tend to have a fair bit of wear on them, one of the higher wear areas in many engines.

Yes especially when oil changes seem to be optional on these old tractors.

Hello Lance I'm from the United States enjoy your videos. I had a Fergie years ago with a Continental engine . Block had split down the middle somebody had actually run bolts through with rubber and steel washers to hold it together. I was told at the time it was a weak design and I just think somebody forgot to put antifreeze in it up here in the Northern U.S.. Now I have a Ford Jubilee and I was told by the dealer only run 15-40 diesel oil in it because it's High detergent unlike other oils now. Supposed to help cleaning the engine keeping the wear to a minimum. Do you agree with that?
