The way you acknowledged just how insane the BSD fandom is genuinely warmed my heart a bit. Yes this fandom goes absolutely feral for the characters, but there really is so much more to it. Something that Asagiri (the creator of BSD) said once about this fandom really stuck with me for awhile. In short, BSD really is only for “people who are not good at living”, and that he always hoped BSD would become “the oxygen for those people that need these stories”. 😭😭 Glad to see this show back on your page again Danny! It's so unfortunate that they cut out almost all of Ranpo's deduction when he was trying to figure out who the leader of the Decay of Angels was. In the manga, he went through clue by clue, step by step until he bundled the pieces together in a way that really makes sense, but in the anime it seemed like he kinda deduced it out of nowhere

you're right about BSD's music it does keep getting better. I also love that scene in the OP where they show Fyodor, Dazai and Ranpo. you can tell a lot about their characters by just how and where they're standing. Fyodor and Dazai are standing at the exact same place at the building because we're often told that they're very similar BUT even if they're standing at the same place their outlook is very difficult, Dazai has warmer tones around him and he looks welcoming whereas it's the exact opposite for Fyodor. But my main point isn't them it's Ranpo. Fyodor and Dazai are still standing equally but Ranpo as we see is at the top of the building which highlights Dazai's point of Ranpo being the special super human even among ability users and also the fact that the 1st episode was named "the strongest man".
