I heard the musical of death note is shockingly good--and actually I think that makes sense, so much of death note is Light thinking to himself/inner monologue, which may have been hard to depict in a regular live action even if the writing had been anything close to the anime's plot. Before watching this video I had never seen anything of the live action and assumed this inner monologue thing was the problem but holy shit they basically just switched all the characters out for different, dumber, people and rewrote the plot for these different, dumber characters

You can't use the most unrealistic, unlikely scenario as the main point to push because that wouldn't happen unless it was allowed to. If you REALLY wanted to prove how level disparities don't matter, then you could've brought up Tailow vs Giratina. Tailow has access to the Scrappy ability, Quick Attack, and Endeavor. Despite its ghost typing, Giratina would lose if it ever dealt a single instance of damage while Tailow held a Focus Sash. It'd be left at one HP, use Endeavor on Giratina, then Quick Attack next turn and ignore the immunity. Easy win. But again. That assumes it's ever allowed. You can give that goofy-ass bird a volatile status that does damage each turn to bypass the Focus Sash entirely. You can use a multi-hit attack if it's available too. So despite relying on power imbalances to work in the first place, the only way it'd succeed is if fucking Pocket Monster Satan was as ignorant as your average 10 year old whose just discovered what Pokemon Showdown was. Speaking of game mechanics, Indeedee basically makes every Psychic capable of using Expanding Force a nuke. Also Victini exists. I sort of despise it since it will straight up force a win no matter the scenario. Pokemon have the living embodiment of plot armor on their side. How do you win against that?
