As crazy as the finale was for a lot of people, I can see why someone watching behind the schedule wouldn't agree or think it was overhyped. Part of what made it so insane was the week of buildup prior to the episode. From the theories, to the Dazai edits, to the fact that even manga fans didn't know what would happen, it was one of the most chaotic "you had to be there" moments in fandom I've ever seen. It definitely increased the enjoyment of what happened in the final episode.

The manga isn't on break. However currently it is covering the events of episode 11 (as the anime surpassed the manga), so it's going to be a while before we get completely new content. I think we're in some sort of split timeline right now. Way too much is happening for it to be a mere two hours later. The man in the mask has similar scars and hair to Fukuchi. My theory is that when they stopped the war from happening, it either unleashed something worse, or something else is trying to fix the timeline so that the war DOES happen. It may possibly be the sword because Fukuchi did say it whispered to him about the war that was supposed to take place in the future.

the manga releases a chapter once every month and it's currently at the point where fukuzawa stole ame-no-gozen. i think the villain at the end may be the author of the book "the decay of the Angel" - yukio mishima- since the new villain has similarities with each of the decay of angel members :)

Due to the scars on his face it looks like Fukuchi at the end, not sure how or why. But also due to the fact Akutagawa looks so different some people are assuming there was either a time travel thing with the characters or possibly alternate universe stuff like beast. I also don't think Fyodor is dead either to be honest, as much as I would prefer to move on from him as an antagonist lol

many of my reactions were the same as danny’s tbh 😭 • fyodor and chuuya surviving the flooding (expected, i doubted dazai actually expected them to die he just wanted to slow them down) • dazai’s “death” (i laughed when he yelled and started squirming around because dazai’s usually so composed. but then he got shot multiple times and i was shocked. i knew he wasn’t dead though since chuuya was the one behind the gun) • fyodor’s death (once again started laughing because i wasn’t expecting him to die via helicopter crash. it was such an anticlimactic end for him. i was sad about nikolai’s reaction though) • teruko stabbing fukuchi made me do a double take. i was also hoping for fukuzawa’s death (not because i don’t like him, i just want to see how the agency reacts) but i guess that’s not happening anytime soon
