This woman is everything that is good. My Grandmother's are long gone, and my Mother too now, quite often when I'm cooking I try to remember how they did things and wish I could remember more of what I saw them doing in the kitchen. Watching you is more than just cooking some good food the way they did. It's a master class on cooking simple great old style Italian food, it's also memories of Grandmother's and Mothers, and family. Nonna Gina - I would like to know the prayer you say before shaping your meatballs - what a wonderful way of paying homage to God for the food you are about to make. You remind me so much of my grandmother, from Borgetto, Sicily, Maddalena Cassara. I learned by watching her. Unfortunately she passed in 1963 when I was only 11. My mother has told me my meatballs are the closest to her and my gravy also. My grandmother used bread and milk in her meatballs - things have progressed and I make mine like yours, except I do add a bit of milk which really makes them tender. God Bless you Gina, I hope you continue these videos for a very long time.
