Chris originally was the drummer and singer when he formed this band with Kim. This is a huge reason why his songwriting was so unique and not always in the standard 4/4 timing. His voice was unmatched. His looks, that rock n roll hair and his natural ability to be just a cool fkn dude. Who didnt look at that dude and think man i wish that was me. Haha. We all miss him. ❤ He was a light in our lives.

His looks are what caught my attention at first as a teenager but I've long come to appreciate him for more than that. He's brilliant. I'm still so bummed I missed his second to last show ever because no one would go with me. Had I known I'd have gone alone. 😢

Oh this guy is unreal. I can sing (i just don't like my voice at all) but, if I could sing like that, I'd be comfortable going acapella like that too. But his riff mastery and lyric-smithery (is that a word?) is incredible. Especially this song. Loved this guy.

RIP.

What a cool down to earth guy . Maybe its because we are the same age and middle children from and Irish catholic family. But i connect with his unfiltered sense of humor and enjoy listening to him talk almost as much as his music. I also think that if it were not for getting back on heavy pharmaceuticals again he would still be here. Those drugs sucked the life out of him and allot of other creative people as well.Chris had shoulder pain so he started taking pain meds . Based on his history his doctor should have never prescribed him what he did .That was all it took for him to go back down that road .So when your doctors start pushing pain meds for minor things don`t accept it .They are more powerful than you think.Stay clean ,stay alive

His, and of course mr thaylls use of alternate tunings made them unique in a diverse genre that was the 90s. His song writing and vocals alone we are not worthy of, but his guitar playing often gets forgotten

As someone who just learned this song on guitar, it's incredible watching him sing while playing. I know singing while playing guitar in general is difficult, but I have personal experience and therefore personal respect when it comes to preforming and singing this song lol.

Both the guitar playing and singing are difficult in this song. He just does both like anyone else
@fasthow2233 жыл бұрын
Yea, a lot of soundgarden guitar is deceptive. The official tablature from the albums shows how complex their music really was.
@MustObeyTheRules3 жыл бұрын
@@fasthow223 Chris was actually a pretty technical player and writer. Look at his solo stuff. Preaching the end of the world has like 27 different chords changes.
@dennisholcombe36242 жыл бұрын
Brother, if u have learned to play and sing this song simultaneously, that is indeed an accomplishment. Carrying the rhythm and chord changes is not so terribly difficult alone. But every time i try to throw a few lyrics in, the whole house of cards falls apart and I'm stuck looking like Steve Vai in the showdown at the end of "Crossroads."🤣
