I'm a LUNATIC Zeppelin fan, and I have no problem saying that Soundgarden is the grunge era version of LedZep. Thayil's use of both odd tunings, and his playing style are very page-esque. Cornell had the range and rasp of Plant. Cameron was one of, if not the best drummer in rock at the time. Not to knock on Shepherd, or any of their bassists, but nobody is filling John Paul Jones' shoes.

+Nikita Saraev before 1995? are u for sure? he was in his 20-30's, of course its different now, he is 52 yrs old in June 2016, i think its not right to say worsened, you're a fan too, right? i think his voice is also a journey of his music, his voice is heavier and has that distinctive smoky, blues and still so much power, i think that's why he does acoustic/unplugged live session now, and, who else (singer) in his 50's has that powerful vocal? -cheers
@ernievids123
@ernievids123 8 жыл бұрын
+L.Max I agree before 1995 his voice was so powerful. But early 2000s his voice was so damaged that he had to adapt to his current voice which is frikin awesome too but not as powerful as early soundgarden Chris
@kevinl2243
@kevinl2243 8 жыл бұрын
i actually think i like his voice better now. he can't get as high as he used to, but the increased raspiness he's now got adds a kind of character to his singing he didn't have in Soundgarden.

I first heard it on holiday in Jersey (UK one) in 1995 with my family, I was a Nirvana loving teen who was starting to listen to other Seattle stuff and bought Superunknown on cassette to listen to on my walkman. First listen through of the album I loved it all, but fell in love particularly with this song. 25+ years later and listened to so many great Cornell songs but this remains my favourite. Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye runs a close second.

Voice of voices. I could listen to Xheis and Ben do Blow Up the Outside World all day and everyday on repeat as well as most of his acoustic performances. Lost the superstar. RIP Cornell

I’m wasn’t a huge rock fan but nothing has affected more than this man singing this song. My most listened song on Spotify by a country mile. What a song. What a voice. What a loss
