One thing that also sucks is having parents that are divorced. If you get in trouble at school, your mother will yell at you and then when you see your father, he’ll do the same so you get to lectures instead of one. Nah, many of us never did. I wouldn't say it's necessarily something you need to experience not to be a complete spoiled brat. I wish I had those soft punishments. For me my worst punishment was being grounded for 1 year. I was like 12 years old, and got accused of trying to break into someones car. Pretty much I was walking the dog with me older brother. We lived near a bank, we were in the parking lot of said bank and for whatever reason my brother decided to pull on a random car door to make sure its (locked or something. Idk maybe it looked like it was open). Anyway someone mustve saw and reported it to the police. By the time we got back the police was already at are house talking to my parents. I had no idea what was going on. I told them I didn't do anything but of course they didn't believe me. That same day I got whooped by my Mom, Dad, and even my Grandma. I couldn't go outside unless it was for school. No games, drawing, reading, playing with toys. They took basically everything outta my room besides clothes. And then for me, getting my head shaved wasn't really done as a punishment but more like my dad just didn't know how to cut hair like that. So he'd just shave it all off. I absolutely hated it and he knew that I did. Whenever I showed up to school the next day I'd feel so embarrassed and it felt like everyone kept looking at me. Which is fair because my head was reflecting light off of it lmao. Eventually he did stop and actually let me grow my hair out and take care of it once I got to high school. But man... some of yall had it easy. Those were some dark times for me If ya actually read all this then thanks, I appreciate it!

As someone who commonly had this punishment it does solve things. It gave me more motivation to perform better to avoid it, and motivated me to try harder when it did happen. Granted this was for school grades or bad behavior in school. Spanking i would say isnt a solution, since most kids who misbehaved at school said they got spanked. Pain only lingers for like 10 minutes but getting electronics removed was way longer.

Yeah i suffered like all of these. Being grounded was a permanent thing for me. It got to the point where i didnt leave my room at all and my parent stopped giving me that punishment. The spanking thing is legit painful but it depends what you are spanked with. If its a wet metal spoon, a braided belt, or a howrd with nails in it that smarts.
