Is it safe to put this cake in the fridge for a few hours? I’ve heard it damages the wafer paper

Put the cake in the box first before putting it in the fridge. 😊

YES!!! I learned to do this with fondant covered cakes. The box serves as a moisture barrier and absorbs the water in the air BEFORE it gets to the cake (which would soften the frosting and wafer edible sheets).

No it doesn't affect the taste of the cake. It could affect the taste of the icing just on the sides (the border) but it taste sooo good. If you have tried smores, they taste the same 🥰
