«Burn in hell as my apartment burned»: a documentary film about life in Kharkiv near the frontlines

"Nothing f**ng left of my apartment," says Sasha, a resident of Kharkiv. He stays in the city even though his house is shelled almost every day from the territory of Russia. Sasha's apartment has already been hit twice by a Russian rocket. The first one took the lives of his family members - the cat Bima and the birds.
He moved to the basement of a nine-story building, from the roof of which the front line is visible. He shares the basement with cats and an elderly neighbor. The man films his life on a mobile phone camera and sends these videos to neighbors in evacuation and acquaintances living in the Russian Federation.
Watch the documentary film "A City on the Border with Darkness" by theater director Sashko Brama about life in Kharkiv near the frontlines and the pain brought by the Russians.
The footages in the film were shot at different times during three months in Kharkiv. Sometimes Sashko and his team sat all night on a roof of a high-rise building to film Russian rockets flying from Belgorod to Kharkiv.

Не можу дивитися, кілька разів виключала. Слів нема. Це результат нашого : " мнє всьоравно пад какім флагам жить". А тепер нє всьоравно, бо флагі різні. Перед початком війни, я запитала у своїх знайомих (захід України), а якщо росія почне війну і прийде сюди, що ви будете робити? Мені відповіли: "буду разгаварівать по рускі, лиш би не стріляли і не вбивали". І я теж так думала, я буду говорити хоч по китайськи тільки, щоб не вбивали і не стріляли. Ніхто із нас не розумів своєї наївності і тупості. Ми такі дурні, що не розуміли, що це війна не на мову, а на смерть. І не має значення де ти живеш, в Харкові чи у Львові , і якою мовою ти говориш, тебе прийшли вбивати. Бо ти українка і українець, ти нацик і бандеровєц. Ти укроп. Україна ЗОБОВ'ЯЗАНА ЗНИЩИТИ ЦЮ НЕЧИСТЬ І ВИГНАТИ ЇЇ З НАШОЇ ЗЕМЛІ!
