Spock was the real heart & soul of Star Trek. His perspective, his intelligence, his morality and his deeply hidden human feelings of amazement and wonderment made the show the what it was and is.

"Spock was the real heart & soul of Star Trek." NO!!! He was not. The Original Star Trek became Star Trek as a whole team. And, because of that there is no Star Trek other than the original one. "His perspective, his intelligence, his morality and his deeply hidden human feelings of amazement and wonderment made the show the what it was and is." Again, WRONG!!! There is only one Star Trek and it is the original one. And, what made the original Star Trek was the whole crew as a whole. That's why, the original Star Trek characters never found their ambience when they were implemented into others.

I wish there was a scene where we see Michael finally reads Spock’s service record. If unifying the Vulcans and Romulans were a feat, she needs to to read what happened at the Khitomer Conference. Remember, he opened the initial dialogue with Gorkon that lead to the Conference and the Accords. Not to mention his formative career on the Enterprise with TWO of Starfleet’s best Captains.

He never finished unifying the Romulus and Vulcans. The plot of unification was that the romulans used his attempt as a plan to invade Vulcan.
@shauntempley97572 жыл бұрын
@@BGRANT777X That depends. If the invasion did happen, then it is either framed as a response to the Supernova, or it is due to the fact that Spock evacuated a number of his Romulan followers. It is an even bigger motive if D'Tan was one of those evacuated.

I really, REALLY like Book's reaction to the footage of Spock. He never knew this man, lived centuries after him - in all likelihood this is the first he's ever heard of him - but it took all of 30 seconds of hearing Spock speak that showed Book how incredible this person was.

His "chronic overachievers" line tells me he knows who Spock is. In the same way we hear of Julius Caesar, Christopher Columbus, Galleilo, Isaac Newton, Joan Of Arc, or Queen Elizabeth the 1st. The sheer profundity of this lexicon continues to amaze me. I remember Reunification very well, and its preface showing respect to Gene after his death in 1992. I was 11 years old. Flash forward to the "now" where I am an adult, and I find solace and strength and total connection between Kirk's meld with Sarek, and Picard's subsequent meld with Sarek, and ultimately, Picard's melding with Spock. Such a magnanimous transition between generations of Trek lineage. It's fundamentally powerful as a work of fiction, and it rattles the soul with the edicts of friendship, brotherhood, and sins of the father. Its wonderful storytelling that has changed my life for the better.

Many years ago I read about dilithium lore. Its crystalline structure made it one of the only substances that had controllable permeability to anti Hydrogen without being destroyed so it could be used as a "valve" for m/a reactions. The m/a reaction produced the plasma that was then sent to the warp coils in the nacelles. Any energy source could be used to generate the plasma but it takes a lot of energy, m/a reactions were the most reliable and most efficient. Any other use of dilithium is either new tech or reconned, early Romulan singularity drives didn't need it nor did subspace communications.

That even though all our goals in life may not be achieved in our lifetimes, the future itself holds promise. Our dreams and ideas never die, they carry on. "Closed minds have kept these two worlds apart for centuries, we can either choose to live with that enmity: or seek a way to change it. The Union of the Vulcan and the Romulan people will not be achieved by politics or by diplomacy...but it will be achieved. And the vulcans will probably always say that to actively discourage it. Deep down Vulcans are smart enough to know that messing with time is a bad idea and to stay as far away from it as possible. And they're totally right, episodes with time travel are usually a mess.

Correction: "became." From Michael's perspective, her adoptive brother's been dead for centuries. But note that nobody encountered in her era has been said to be his descendant, which is only likely if he had no children.

Spock sure does like forgetting about his sibblings. In the 3rd film Kirk specifically says "aha! He cant be your brother. Because I know you dont have any brothers OR SISTERS!" And Spock replies "Thats correct Jim, I dont..... I have a half brother." So Michael CANT be his sister, plot twist, its a Romulun double agent.

The early seasons of this show stunk to high heaven. But then again, Next-Gen, DS9 and Voyager all had the same problem. It's beginning to FINALLY find its feet and actually feel (almost) like Star Trek.
@AzguardMike3 жыл бұрын
DS9 was crap throughout, Next Gen took a season to find it footing, Voyager got worse as it went on pushing its narrative with a shite finale - even cucking the borg from terrifying to "lol look 100 cubes whatever, shoot them down" STD was a literal STD, it was unwanted, offensive, irritating and noone asked for it.
@Althalus20102 жыл бұрын
@@AzguardMike DS9 is regarded by many as the best Star Trek show, Voyager never reached its full potential and DIS is NOT abbreviated to STD by anyone except sad little manchildren. It's not unwanted because, after the JJ Abrams movies, a lot of people said "Okay, but can we have a show again please?" It's not offensive, because literally what the fuck bro? It's not irritating because it doesn't contain Wesley Crusher and it's not "noone asked for it" because bro you literally just repeated unwanted lmao.

Leonard Nimoy was legendary in that episode however his version of Spock will live on forever. All the actors who came after Nimoy have their own variations of the character but doesn't hold a candle to the original the only Mr.Nimoy.
