2J22 Wickford ➡ Southminster | On-time
A single video of a single class 720 unit working a Wickford to Southminster service passing this small footpath crossing in the pretty town of Burnham-on-Crouch. This town is located on the remote Dengie Peninsula in Essex. The warning system here in the form of two Schweizer 'Value for Money System' units was installed in 2022, and before that it was a pretty basic footpath crossing connecting a riverside park next to a yacht harbour with a residential area. Quite a clear shot of the train coming in from the direction of Althorne can be had from this side, bar the 50mph speed limit sign (in this case it worked very nicely as the unit number was actually 550!). I managed to zoom down the line to film the train arriving into the nearby Burnham-on-Crouch station at the end of the main clip, quite a nice touch as I didn't expect to see the station from here.
