Very helpful. Bought a low end wood burner tool. With the techniques you taught in this video I don't see the need to upgrade to an expensive tool for the small projects I am doing. Thank you for taking the time to make this informational video. 😁

Happy to help! If you hone your techniques, you can certainly do everything with a low end burner that you can with a high end burner! For me, the biggest difference was just the speed that I could work and the variety of specialty nibs. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!

Hi Jannie, Great information. I get so many requests / questions about burning with solid point pen tips. I have zero experience with them, and zero desire to gain experience with them. :) With your permission, I'd like to put a link of this video on my website to help people find answers they need. I don't embed videos. Instead, the link would open KZbin, and you would get any and all views on your KZbin channel. Brenda

Just starting to make wood rings and i want to put some runes on them and want to know if i can use a soldering iron for this??
@BurnSavvy9 ай бұрын
Yep. The basic woodburning tools are soldering irons. Just realize that rings are exceptionally hard to burn because they are small and a round surface. I hope it works out well for you!🙌

Can you recommend a starter burner kit?
@BurnSavvy2 жыл бұрын
Oops! My reply didn't publish. I have 2 burners that I recommend depending on your needs. If you haven't tried it before and you're on a tight budget, get a cheap solid point with heat control: amzn.to/3rrfuAZ . It's harder to use but the easiest of the solid point burners. If you want something easier to use, faster at heating & cooling, I recommend a Colwood Detailer. www.bearwood.com/deluxe-kit-detailer.html . Use code SAVVY at checkout for a sweet 5% discount on your entire order over $20. Hope that helps!

Hi! Getting ready to start burning but the first thing I noticed is the fact the cord doesn't swivel! Did I purchase a too "beginner " tool or is this something I have to get used to? I have a walnuthollow versa tool ..thanks!
@BurnSavvy Жыл бұрын
I don’t know of any burners where the cord swivels, but the versatool should have a heat dial that swivels on the cord. That’s the beginner tool I typically recommend so you should be good. 🔥🙌
@joannenosko1663 Жыл бұрын
@BurnSavvy thanks for such a quick reply! Unfortunately mine does not have a swivel at the heat selector so the cord does not swivel at all. Maybe I got an older model.

Is there glue in that plywood?
@BurnSavvy2 ай бұрын
Nope. It’s just a thin sheet of wood. Thankfully, plywood is not like particleboard that has glue all over it and through it. With thicker plywood, you’ve just got to be careful not to burn through all the layers if you want to avoid the glue.
