Burnt Forest is a STEP UP | Layer Cake Challenge | 7 Days To Die Version 1.0 Gameplay

Welcome to my let's play series for 7 Days To Die Version 1.0 - The Layer Cake Challenge, in this series we will be showing gameplay of the new update. In this episode we work on some tier 3 quests for Trader Jen, and battle some ferals as we notice the increase in difficulty in this Burnt Forest biome.
Layer Cake Challenge Rules:
You must go through each biome in order and take on the horde in each biome as follows:
Days 1-7: Forest Biome
Days 8-14: Burnt Forest
Days 14-21: Desert Biome
Days 22-28: Snow Biome
Days 29-35 Wasteland Biome
Grace period until 17:00 the day after the horde to go between 2 biomes if you need to make multiple trips to move bases.
The challenge is Permadeath
Play on whatever settings you're comfortable with, the only real big one is the horde needs to be every 7 days.
You can't go between biomes at all, if you get given a quest in a different biome - tough, you can't do it. The only time you can travel back and forth is until 17:00 on the day after the horde to move between bases.
Some modlets are fine, as long as they don't massively impact game balance.
Settings -
* Warrior Difficulty
* Zombies Run during the day & sprint at night
* Loot respawn off
* 64 Max Alive Horde Nights

day 34 in my all default game. now I made lvl6 autoshotty and SMG and switching armorsets between miner and S-tier combo armor. Farming is also set up so no worries about food ever again. I'm thinking about to move to the wasteland soon but still haven't found decent POI to settle in. Keep up the good work!

Why did they all wake up... you were apparently making enough noise to wake the dead. ( I couldn't resist.) Are you going to forge some rock for cement or just plan to buy all the concrete? You should start to need concrete pretty soon to stay alive. This series keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great episode. Thank you.

I got a baseball bat, and so I am going to skip the sledge build for now even though you are showing why the sledge is so good in this series. I still have points in sledge, but I am loving the bat right now. I am following your lead on shotguns though, they are a lot of fun too! So good to watch your style, I learn a lot from you. :)

I had to install the mod bell go bong. Stumbling across those large bells and not being able to ring them was just too much.

@@The-Two-Five Yes it's called BellGoBong. It would be nice if it was just something that could be done normally. I set up temp home in the fire department number 4 mainly because of the bell.

This isn’t a random gen map. It’s the same one as consoles.

@@paulhunt4494 yes we have 4 maps in 4 sizes. This is a console map. Skippy0330 has a map video that will give quick easy information.

This is in fact a random gen map and not a pregen, however what grumpynomad said about there being a pregen layer map on console could be worth looking into, definitely check out Skippy's map video to see if there's one you can use :)

Anyone know best spot for clay in snow biome? I dug yesterday and got only snow

try digging were the top layer isn't snow like around POIs or farms, paths, road shoulders...i'm pretty sure you'll hit clay, but if not you may have to rely on harvesting potted plants, farm plot looking things around and inside buildings and pallets of clay when you find them

yeah head lamps seem to be a bit scarce...so use to getting one in the first few days i never picked up so many torches and candles to throw down in dark rooms when I was looking for loot... in the layer cake and the run before that I had a long search for a head lamp ended up buying one in layer when I got into the burnt biome and the one before that it was eventually a reward good thing it isn't as dark anymore but some POIs do still get pretty dark in some rooms and basements can't find anything. i was tempted to fiddle with the gamma but decided to leave it

Interesting, I feel like a helmet light mod should be something you can guarantee. Maybe the first airdrop could always have it or it could be a choice for tier 1 completion
