Do I still need to solder in the kit into the ecu for the boost by gear or no?

Always, internal components will always require soldering into the ecu, the kit shown in this video is only the external pieces that connect outside of the ecu.

Hey so A11 isn’t pwm on the OBD1 pinout it says OBD1 A11 is the egr pin.
