so im learning korean but so far all ive been learning is the standard dialect. i speak a few languages and my voice tends to get deeper when im speaking another language. anyway, i started saying these busan dialect phrases out loud and MY GOD! my voice got even deeper than it already sounds when i speak korean! its crazy! its like, ridiculously husky. its the deepest my voice has ever sounded when im just talking! 😂

the first time i fell in love with Busan satoori was in "Playful kiss". I had a massive crush in him and i couldn't understand why (this was before i knew about the different dialects) but i found myself attracted to so many others cause of their satoori, like woozi, daehyun and jimin... it wasn't until bts song paldogangsan that ive understood it and it honestly made me love dialect even more now that i understood what it was that i liked

@oneirodynia88635 жыл бұрын
Satoori is more so a dialect rather than an accent~^^ An accent is like the American accent and the England accent~ E.g: "Whilst" vs. "While" Both can be understood, but they're said and written differently~ A dialect is the difference in pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, etc~ Like the Busan dialect is tonal while the Seoul dialect is not~^^

Accents and dialect are very different things. :> When someone speaks with an accent, the way that they say things can still be understood...but with dialect that IS the proper way they say things. If you begin to compare accents to dialects, you'll hit a dead end, so I would try to think of it in a different way.
@JelloraVT6 жыл бұрын
It's because u cant speak it. I'm English (living in Korea) and Koreans who are less fluent in English sometimes say i sound American.
@slycordinator5 жыл бұрын
If you're used to the sounds of Korean, the differences here are pretty strong. Standard Korean is spoken mostly in a monotone manner. They'll raise their pitch a little when they're asking a question, but even then it's pretty subtle. But in Gyeongsang, there's a lot more rising and falling intonation even if they use a word that is "standard". Or even how a lot of single syllables are shortened/quickened (ex: see/watch can be "봐" (sort of "bwah"), but since I speak Korean more like my wife, I'll end up saying it more like "바". And it can work in reverse. One time, I said "white" (pronounced as wite) and my elementary kids were all "No, teacher. It's (h-wite)" with it aspirated more. To me, they seemed the same for a sec since I've heard both interchangeably for my entire life.
