@@BusbeeStyle I had Ultherapy…they gave me a prescription pain/nerve blocking pill (I don’t remember the name) and it worked like a charm. It was uncomfortable for sure but I got through it and would definitely do it again. Xanax is NOT a pain reliever or nerve blocker, all it would do is relax you so I don’t think they managed your pain well at all.

1. It's not normal. 2. Women didn't used to have options. We can now do what we think is best. You don't like it, that's fine. She likes it, and that's fine as well. FREEDOM for women comes when we all accept that choices are a good thing whether you agree with them or not. 3. This isn't torture.😅 Also, I'm a no pain no gain type of gal. I do a lot of hard things weekly (strenght training, intermittent fasting) that make me look good and it pays off. That is not torture.

I'm with you. I'm almost 58 years old. I haven't even had botox as well. I like looking at people's experiences that I have been following for other reasons here but I have learned to accept that aging is a natural process. I just went to a very very close friend's funeral and she was 87 when she died. She took the natural route and her kindness and good heart taught me that aging gracefully is the way to go. She was beautiful so much inside that the outside just didn't matter. I love makeup and skincare and will strive to take care of myself but personally would not do this.

But ya know what? I'd like to be part of aging with grace and ACCEPTANCE that we will age, and it's ok and WE ARE BEAUTIFUL WITHOUT PROCEDURES, etc. :). You look amazing and more importantly, like you, just a bit more youthful, and definitely refreshed. I see so many women who get fillers and other injections to the point that they begin looking like a caricature of themselves. IME, a similar skin before and result alone would have made it worth it for me, as I do not like to wear more than a tinted moisturizer or light coverage make-up daily. Tasteful as always, Erin. Glad the pain appears to be worth it! Edited to add: Did you change your eyelash routine? Obviously, it's fully invasive, expensive, and requires a significant recovery time. No regrets!!! I'm thrilled with the results! Bruising was significant, but now gone. Swelling is slowly resolving. It's a huge decision, but I'm feeling so confident and excited about my appearance. I'm also a big believer in the power of great skin care. There's just no substitute!! Thanks Erin for being so honest. You look amazing whatever. Personally, I'm going the all natural route as I think if I started, I'd not stop and I also worry about the long term impacts. I'm learning to embrace the aging process, channelling your bold not old vibe. :-) and I'm also a big believer of women doing makes them feel good. What I find hard to accept is the general mass media and social pressure, particularly on women, to be perfect and beautiful and the definitions of beauty are so narrow. I really wish that would change although I appreciate that's unrealistic. Enjoy the Spanish adventure.

Wow, subtle but so impactful! I think you hit the nail on the head when you said the luminosity of your skin improved...boy did it! I would venture to say that was the most noticeable change, second being the overall slightly lifted more youthful look. Again, subtle but what a difference it makes. I got Restalyn Kiss in my lips and had a similar result as you, I love it, it's again subtle but really makes an impact and does not in any way look overdone! As for Ultherapy...goodness, everyone says it's so painful, I just don't think I'll ever be brave enough! ha ha. Thanks for your honesty in sharing these procedures!! You look fabulous!!

As far as pain is concerned with ultherapy, I just watched a doctor's video, who had the procedure himself. He said that the expertise of the provider is critical. If the provider knows what they're doing, knows how to properly read the ultrasound, the procedure will be comfortable. If they are not good, they will deliver the therapy to the wrong areas, thus causing pain.

Ultherapy really is excruciating!!! I had a baby without meds, no problem, but with Ultherapy my legs were thrashing from side to side!!! Also, unfortunately, I was one of the people who had an opposite effect from Ultherapy. It “burned” off the fat in my face and made my nasolabial folds so deep I actually have to get filler now😫

So sorry you had a paradoxical response. I would rather have a minilift. One of my friends just had one and I saw her a week out and she was not in pain and had slight bruising. It lifts your neck , jawline and side of your face. It was 10 K and will probably last her at least 7-8 years.

Thank you for this video Erin. I own a medical spa south of Cleveland, Ohio and there is newer technology called Exilis Ultra that combines Ultrasound (ultherapy) and Radiofrequency and we truly see amazing results AND it is NOT painful! It literally feels like getting a hot stone massage on your face and our patients state they see MORE results and would never go back to Ultherapy because of the pain. I explain the procedure to patients that we are producing less collagen as we age but the collagen we do have gets “stretched out like an old sweater” and adding deep heat via Ultrasound/Radiofrequency=Exilis is like putting that sweater in the dryer and it will tighten things up. Again, thank you for sharing your minimally invasive procedures because everyday women want to understand what options they have if they do not want to go through surgery. Technology and innovation are have been wonderful for aesthetic medicine!

Xanax is not a pain reliever. It's a sedative or anti depressant. So it would not relieve pain. Did they numb you pre-proceedure with lidocaine? Next time, ask your provider to prescribe an actual pain reliever like Lodine which has no driving restrictions and does not cause sleepiness and you can continue to use it for the recovery period as needed. I had GREAT results with Jeuvederm Voluma which has the same retention period. Far less painful same price range immediate results which just keep getting better up to 90 days.

Yes, I am aware that Xanax is not a pain reliever...my doctor gave it to me to relax me because often if you are more relaxed it also lessens the pain. A topical lidocaine was used, but the Ultherapy was still very painful! Thanks for sharing your experience, MaryEllen and thanks for watching! xo

Thank you for sharing Erin! You look great & if you feel great, that is all that matters! I have had many threads placed as well as ultherapy. The Ultherapy is intense… I don’t know of any ways of easing that other than what you did. For the threads: I stop using Ibuprofen for at least a week, I then take bromelain the day of and for 4 days after. I also use a lot of arnica cream topically on my treatment areas, avoiding the insertion points. Both the arnica & bromelain help my bruising significantly. I also use ice to reduce the swelling. I hope this helps:)

How sad that our culture worships youth! Kind of the False Hollywood syndrome. I’m almost 77 & have very few wrinkles so do look at least 10 yrs younger but gals face it, at some point everyone is gonna be old. Unless you want to look like Joan Rivers did & those ladies such as Cher who no longer have any facial movement, don’t get started with any procedures. What happened to growing old gracefully?!?!

What is beautiful about our culture is that we can each decide what is best for each of us. These treatments are certainly not right for everyone, but I was excited to try them and thrilled with the results. Growing old gracefully has different meanings to everyone. I love that there are options available for those who want them. I don't think there are many people who want to go to the extreme of the examples that you provided...I know I don't, but again a personal decision for everyone to make for themselves. I also had great results from lip filler and would never want to so without it. I just had my second round of sculptra placed in my temporal area and that has been subtle, but was a noticeable improvement. I am looking to get a bit of sculptra placed along my cheekbones not to plump up anything, but just to rejuvenate this area. It builds collagen and helps refreshen the face. Thank you for being so open about what you have had done. I come from a family of saggers. I was quite jowly by the age if 45. I have stayed out of the sun and used good skincare. Some people battle poor genetics and I am one of those people. I made the decision not to spend money on fillers and other more short term procedures.because I knew I would need a facelift at some point anyway and I knew I would do it. I am now 59 and had a face/neck lift with upper and lower blepharoplasty in February. The results are pretty amazing and I wish I had done it 5 years ago. I am glad I made the decisions I did.
