Jane's, Everclear, Weezer...I get it! The best of days for the most righteous generation. However, you should be careful making statements like your last sentence. I uttered the exact same phrase back in early December (2019) about my pace of progress on a spiritual path and since then I've had to give up sugar...caffeine...beer and grain-based liquor...and dammit all...weed! Best of friends for over a quarter century we were. (But at least my pace of progress on my path is coming back? Hmm.) Consider yourself on notice. ;)

This song reminds me of my sister in law who died this past December, they found her and her boyfriend dead of an overdose outside of their car...needles strown around on the ground, she just couldn't fight the demon. I will always wish that she could have stayed off of that cloud for her daughter who will have to live without her, who never truly got to see her clean and sober and her other kids that were ripped from her. I'll always remember the last day I seen her, telling her to leave before my husband got home who had banned her from the house because she had been stealing from so many family members. I will never forget that I couldn't help her. She was a best friend turned addict, a mother turned addict, a wife turned addict....its a demon that takes so many hearts. Still brings me back to the movie, Fear, when I was in middle school. They were the best of times. I wish all you young people could know how it really was and you never will. Before the internet and technology took over our lives, we lived, really lived. 💛✌️

I had no older siblings and no pocket money to buy albums, taping off radio was my life. Like my little stereo boom box was permanently set on record/pause waiting for a great song to play. I still have some of those cassettes, but sadly they are stretched and worn from years of love and abuse; much like my body and soul.

I think I have to agree with you, to a point, sir. I'm going to ask you to give me a little rope, here, if you please. This was four score and a trillion drinks ago; my memory isn't what it used to be. ^_~ Bush, if my defective memory recalls, came out on just the other side of the grunge era. It was inevitable that they got lumped in, fairly or not. Sounds like blah-blah, check! Looks like, blah-blah, check! It's a dead cert! It's taken me a while to really appreciate that first record for what it really was. What is that? You tell me, sir. I just kind of keep appreciating it more and more. Cheers!

well idk, i wasnt into the mainstream i was always underground, but my wife says he used to be great, before he was a dirty cheater. so in her mind hes been "me too'd " idgaf either way i'm underground bro. but if hes getting hate its probably because of that.

American radio was destroyed somewhere around 1998 when almost all the radio stations were bought up by the same conglomerate and the same top 40 songs went on heavy repeat everywhere. EVERY band of that era either got buried or overexposed. Bush falls in the latter category.

An incredibly accurate song describing the lure and siren song of addiction. Coming down from that cloud can be an absolutely nightmarish struggle. This song is the ultimate post grunge entry from the 90s. What time it was to be alive.
