Bush Hog Job with a John Deere 790 Tractor and 5 foot King Kutter rotary brush hog (Part 1) This overgrown field of trees and brush was completely clear when I was finished bush hogging. In this 3 part video I show you how to bush hog on a John Deere 790 tractor. I did have an issue with my John Deere Yanmar Diesel engine overheating (Part 2) and I show how to fix that in Part 3 video in this series. I also show how to drive a tractor with a bush hog and how to bush hog with a tractor and prevent John Deere tractor overheating the engine (Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel engine) especially under the load of clearing land.

I have one as well. I go in third gear low range 2400 rpm in heavy brush like that. I keep the bucket down and curled up as well. I would rather bump rocks with the bucket then hit them with the brush hog.

Can't let trees grow on power line ROW! If you hadn't cut it, then the ROW crew would've eventually cut it anyway. Good work though, I have a 2001 JD 790 and use it on hunt club property mostly. That was some pretty thick stuff though!!!! How much did you charge for that job??

For some reason the power company wasn’t maintaining this property. I cut it twice in two years, $700 then $600

Mine is a 2005. It’s just big enough to handle medium jobs. Definitely good for a 5’ bush hog and on hills
