This is Bushcraft Camp 3.0 (my woodland camp) in one movie. I was hoping to add some more to this, but I’m not sure whether to move it to another area as the light is so good in this spot it would be great for growing new young trees. What are your thoughts? Obviously I can’t really move the brick oven!
@markjones55617 ай бұрын
Do you have any other open glades? The sunlight might to nice to have for a camp. My tiny camp is set up in an area that receives shade mostly, and that's good because the summers here (Maryland USA) are BAKING. So the shade is welcomed. In Winter the trees lose their leaves and there's plenty of sun. The UK 's summers generally are not as hot, but having a little shade might be nice. I'm a fan of growing as many trees as possible, but there is something about finding an open glade within a wood that has a magic to it.

Good light is also necessary for good filming. You and your father have put too much of yourselves into this to take it down.

I'd say you'd know your working conditions better than us. If you can get more out of the other site then it might be a good idea, even if it's a lot of work. But if everything you have set up is working fine (plus you have the good light) then there's no need to move. Maybe (if possible) have a smaller camp at the other location to compromise?

I would continue to use the camp. The new trees will grow - your using the camp won't stop them. :) Question: I am wanting to build a natural masonry stove using the rocks on my property that are the same colour as your mortar. What are the ingredients of that? It looked like you put dirt from the ground into either cement or S-mortar. What is the ratio? So glad to see your dad working along side you.

Generally speaking civilians are not allowed to own modern-day pistols in the UK however they are allowed to own and operate traditional hunting shotguns for bird and squirrel hunting as long as they have the proper permit for the firearm. And both he and his father own shotguns, but I don't know if they always bring them out into the forest or not
