Bushcraft In The Snow - The Joy of First Snow - remember this trip? I remembered it recently and thought of dedicating that first day of snow a video of its own. This video represents day 3 of one of my trips - the last days of November 2020 - it was the first day of snow we had here in my country this year and a wonderful surprise because I got to witness the first snow in the woods, where I most love to be. Hi Johanna: Though miles & continents apart It looks like we use the same tent I got mine last summer & am very happy with it. Lambs Snow is a very descriptive & pleasant term. In Ontario Canada our springs are the same tough & pull except we are not sure of no snow until early May. Thanks for the video &Stay Safe. Brian 80

Snow time brings frosty noses and ears. The lucky flakes land on your tongue and melt in your mouth. The forest shimmered in the sunlight that enveloped the white crystal coated inhabitants standing and laying on the floor. All sharply defined and beautifully displayed. If it were not for the fire, the world may have forever been in the grip of the winter clutches. Stuck solid like silver bromide in photograpic emusion. I mostly use a Condor Huron, that was enough for me - very beautiful knife, not very big, helpful for all I needed. But I received many knives as gift from a friend. I will take them on my trips with me and use them in my next videos.

I can only think of what a co-worker from Michigan told me about the first snow up there. He said, the two best snows are the first and the last. We once had 8" here on the Middle Texas Coast. That is the most unpleasant landscape I could imagine where you are.

8" of snow is not much. Winters here used to bring lots of snow. We miss snow here these last few years. Although not very pleasant beacause it's cold and wet, it is so beautiful. Thank you! Best wishes!

I believe that's a Tigris Outback tent? I have the same one. It's such a practical tent for roomieness and also cover. All the cool video scenes you took of the forest with the snow on the ground reminded me of one of the most memorable things I've ever done. Taking a horseback ride in the forests of Pennsylvania in the middle of Winter with a foot of snow on the ground and a full moon. With no leaves on the trees the forest was so quiet and the bright glow on the snow from the moonlight was something one must experience. All the pictures you took reminded me of that night. Its still to this day one of the greatest experiences in the woods I've ever had. Thanks for the memories. Keep doing what you do. We appreciate it. Yes, an American friend told me you had snow there few days ago. Not sure if we had snow in May here.
