Bushcraft Shelter Rain - Building a roof for my long-term shelter. When the roof was almost finished it started to rain. No leaking, so I felt satisfied with all the work and effort that went into that roof. No talking, only peaceful nature sounds.
Building the roof of my fairytale house in the forest took me longer than expected - 5 days of filming and many hours of editing, this is why I did not manage to post a video last week, as I usually do. As you could see in the video I built the framework of the roof, then interwove some rods to make it stronger, I added a natural sackcloth layer first (just for the beauty of it), then 2 tarp layers, then another roof framework, and finished by adding branches with leaves on them, and simple dead leaves I collected from the forest. I will change that last layer according to what each season has to offer. The roof behaved very well during rain. And I'm sure snow won't be a problem either.
Spring is approaching, so I wanted to welcome it preparing spring rolls for dinner, with lots of vegetables and green leaves.
