I had the amazing opportunity to meet and train with Sensei Sinclair. His Aikido is excellent and very realistic and powerful. This kind of Aikido is the one that has to be shown to people. Thanks for an amazing seminar Sensei!

My sensei is sensei Jaime Calderon of tenshin aikido. That’s why I say this looks like tenshin to me . I like this good job

@carl reynolds, Bushikan and Tenshin Aikido look a lot alike but they differ in execution. Bushikan Aikido was built on the foundation of Tenshin Aikido.

Hi, munetsuki is generally a strike to the stomach/body. Kao tsuki is a punch to the face. We do both but work more on the kao as most fights I have been in people want to take your head off and swing mostly for the head/face. I met Seagal Shihan by sheer luck. One of his friends was in one of my classes and made the meeting happen.

Is that tenshin aikido ? Sure look like it
@AikiBushi4 жыл бұрын
@carl reynolds, No, it is Bushikan Aikido. While they do have their differences, they look very similar.

If you watch closely, you will see that uke is retracting his arm after the punch. In fact in the first clip explaining how to use kotegaeshi offensively, uke's arm is retracted, just elevated for the block. Every strike should be retracted just like a real fight. Our techniques are designed for this, and in transition if uke fails to bring thier arm back nage will do it for them. In kotegaeshi the wrist should cut through where the elbow WAS. Can't do that with a straight arm.

I very much appreciate your videos! I wish that I had studied Aikido instead of Karate.

Really good stuff. I feel a lot of this is "implied" in traditional Aikido but it gets overlooked. For instance in shomen uchi kotegaeshi the nage should be attacking at the same time as uke, which makes it look like your offensive-waza-kotegaeshi. Also in Yoshinkan they initiate some stuff by nage provoking uke into blocking. Your Seagal-style redirects are also interesting, it seems that every stylist that looks for truth in Aikido eventually stumbles onto them.

Domo arigatou gozaimasu! (どうも 有難う 御座います!) I may be able to move, but watch out for Sandy, I taught her how to break a nose and she has been looking for an opportunity to try it out! I hope your trip to Japan was great! It was fantastic to hear from you.

I get it now. I am Udansha from 3RA. I studied since 92 under Freeman Sensei. No wonder our Aikido is identical lol.

You dont know how much i love this ! Thanks for posting . I have quite a number of questions to ask . I hope you dont mind . When you do techniques against the punch and jab , particularly the kotegaeshi , will it work when the hand retracks back ? I mean , wont boxers pull their hands back when they punch ? Also , for the double jab attack , how are you deflecting the punches . Is it possible for you to cover takedowns ? Maybe not MMA type , but street type . Why are some techniques called kao

Wonderful demonstration, the techniques are amazing , I wonder do you know if Sensei Seagal studied also daito ryu aikijiujiutsu other then aikikai aikido ?
@AikiBushi10 жыл бұрын
I had asked him a similar question. His response was that he sought out not only O'Sensei's top students but also his teachers. He told me he studied with many of them asking to be taught what they had taught O'Sensei.

AikiBushi i see.... i also noticed that Sensei Seagal is also a skilled striker (i watched videos where he trains with anderson silva lyoto machida but i also noticed some strikes in his films) . His way to strikes looks like win chun .. do you know if he learnt that martial art ? Are those win chun -like striking techniques part of aikido ?
